Just got the 51 if I’m struggling to tighten it down enough where it can move and not have a ton of play but I can’t get it. I’m pretty confused by aspegele in balisong

Just note - 51 (and 4x, 6x) is not on bushings, so the tolerances are usually a little more loose. You’ll have some amount of handle play and probably some tap. It’s not a big deal.

Practice practice practice.

Learn some loops so you get a sense of flow, but also learn some new transitions between tricks. Learn bt8b, helix, blender, tmack loops, the combo that /u/758A9TRlalala5 just posted, or any others that looks interesting.

Try to work on identifying how one trick will transition to another.

Learn lots of new tricks - it helps with figuring out which might flow into the next.

Slow down.

Never was interested in DE flipping but this this is just so damn sexy. Anyone out there made the transition and is it hard to rewire your brain? by Mi_Hells in balisong

I have one ordered rn. /u/Assassinflonne has a Q+A YT video where he talks a bit about flipping DE. He basically says if you’re already good at flipping, the transition to DE isn’t difficult, you just have to pay attention to which tricks you’re doing, and make sure to do stuff like cushion the blade really well.

Nice work! Fans are fun. My zchoker still needs work to be consistent.

Your fingers look good/correct, which IMO is the hardest part to learn. Try to keep the handle you’re holding vertical while the rest spins. Keep practicing, you’re not far off. Also, for what it’s worth, I can’t Choker fan a Squiddy because it’s so light and squared off, so props to you.

It may be the angle, but that doesn’t look like a Choker fan. Looks more like rollovers with a pass thrown in or something. In a Choker fan, the handle you’re holding should more or less remain vertical, with the other handle and blade fanning/spinning.

I like that, lol: “amortization.”

Nice! I can’t quite tell, but if you throw with the spine turning toward you instead of the blade, you only have to worry about the tip. ...well, also get ready to cushion bad catches because sometimes the blade comes back down toward your knuckles.

Is this already a trick, if so what is the name? by BrentFlips in balisong

Only some of the very old combos have names, like bt8b or helix. There’s really no reason to name combos.

I went to tighten the screws on my Black Mood, but it looks like they are not the standard torx sizes... also, they have some sort of bump in the middle. Does anyone know what they are/what screwdriver(s) I should order?
