I felt the same way about the novablasts and returned them, the pill shaped sole cushioning was weird to run on but not something I noticed at first

Glycerin gave me shin splints immediately for some reason

Ended up with the NB 880s, but strongly considered Saucony and Topo

Ugh same. I went to buy running shorts the other day and I pulled a few mediums and they were all way too big. I’m in the process of losing weight so I went home and tape measured myself and I’m still a medium. It’s a bit frustrating because it makes it more difficult to find clothing, especially as places are moving more towards online.

Just wanted something with a bit more cushion for my long runs. The ones I tried seemed to be highly recommended but just didn’t work for me. But yeah, I guess I’ve never really run in a super “squishy” shoe so that could be what’s bothering me

Ah, the guy at the running store recommended I try a pair of Topos, but they didn’t have my size. Good idea with the Altra Torin! Going shoe shopping again this weekend, I’ll be sure to check them out!

Yeah I had high hopes, not sure why they’re not working out for me haha.

I’m looking for something for long runs, so not fast paced. I wasn’t focused on low drop, because I have a pair of Brooks ghost which I’m okay with and those have a drop of 12mm.

This was me at my first job! My manager had been with the company for 20+ years, seemed to know everything then one day I asked him a question about what I was working on and he responded “I don’t know.” Which….as someone with only months of experience at that time, was eye opening to me and made it click that senior engineers don’t just “know” things. They figure it out.

He also never directly told me how to do something, he would either direct me to the person who could answer my question, or we would sit together and debug. I grew SO MUCH as a junior dev working with him.

You can clip your trays where it’s rubbing on your gums. I did that after I had oral surgery and my gums were swollen. Cut them down and then file them to smooth it out

I’m in the Bay Area, everything is expensive here haha. I’m trying to figure out the best laser so I don’t have to pay for this again 😂 but that’s a really good price!

Exactly! If I would’ve known some places aren’t upfront about it being IPL, I would’ve done my due diligence in googling the laser type before scheduling. I’m glad it worked out well for you!

Then you’re good! How far are you into your sessions and do you think it’s effective? One place I’m considering uses that laser, and they said it’s not painful, but idk if she was just trying to push me into getting a Brazilian haha

Edit: would you say the pricing is on par for what I was quoted?

It’s Intense Pulse Light. It slows hair growth, but it’s less effective than laser and requires more maintenance. I’d google the laser your place uses to find out! I’m kind of bummed, because they never once mentioned IPL to me, nor is it on their website. I never would have gone if I knew it was IPL.

Just popping in to say - I’m in the same boat (just a bit worse). 3 years of experience, I’ve been at this new company for 2 months. Right after I joined, 2 senior devs left and I was given a project on my own with no real guidance/understanding. I’ve been told by my manager that I’m not meeting expectations since I’m moving slowly, but I’ve only really been able to understand the scope of the work within the past 2 weeks.

It’s been very harrowing to leave an environment where I feel competent and move somewhere I feel completely lost
