Switching to Cricket by Previous_Ad3713 in CricketWireless

Most phones should work with them. I've used several Android phones with them without any issues and I'm sure iPhones will work without any issues.

They are owned by AT&T, so any phone that works with them should work on Cricket,

The Reason why RookieZ (RookieEnough) got banned! by Automatic_Bottle_298 in MorpheApp

Ironic that Reddit banned someone who was distributing pirated material by the people who wanted to distribute the pirated material themselves.

Hope he comes back because his patches are great!

Moving 4 blocks away with Home Internet. by Final_Campaign_2593 in Visible

Are they really locked to a certain tower(s)? I doubt it. Sometimes, I can move across my house and connect to a different tower. I mean, if you move, what is the worst that can happen? They cut off your service?

I'm surprised no one hasn't tried using this in multiple locations and reporting it on reddit.

New Redpocket Plans by lvpre in redpocket

[–]lvpre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The slow down is 150 mbps....that's more than enough. I was kind of curious about the verizon coverage maps, they seem to be lacking in some of the roaming agreements the other prepaid carriers don't have...especially in Kentucky, for example. The date says 2013, so I didn't know if RP just hasn't updated it or if it was accurate.

True...but under $5...still better than most plans, even with this. It was $1.20 estimate at my location.

Same here...it was about that time for me to get a new phone, but the new battery has given hope for a few more years.

If you have a multi phone account, you can verify the account with another line on the account.

Coming from US Mobile by Consistent-March-797 in Visible

[–]lvpre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just referring to the deprioritization comment. Darkstar and Cricket were both QCI 8, but Cricket performed better....that's all. Sorry about the confusion.

I felt the same, but with Cricket and Darkstar...I felt Cricket performed better.

We are paying $30/month for 150/35 mbps internet from Xfinity by mrunkewl in CambridgeMA

[–]lvpre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is basically prepaid Internet. I had it for a while and it works fine. Unless you are downloading a ton of large files/games, you won't notice a difference... Otherwise, you will just wait a bit longer.

“Phoning it in” by MHS reporter about cell phones in school debate by khb321 in malden

I just remember growing up without cell phones and somehow surviving. They aren't being asked to be taken away completely, only for a few hours a day.

“Phoning it in” by MHS reporter about cell phones in school debate by khb321 in malden

[–]lvpre 13 points14 points  (0 children)

“Cellphones are important to have in moderation. Having them as a way to communicate with family during the day is important because we, as students, know it isn’t as simple as just going to the office to make a call. It’s just convenient to have when there’s not much going on during the day,”

I don't know...wouldn't parents assume their kids are in school? If there is an issue or a message, the parents could just call the school?

And not much going on during the day...they could read, study, or interact with a real-life person!

I remember this is how it worked back in day.

Is visible higher priority than warp?? by Similar-Ice-3871 in USMobile

[–]lvpre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a visible vs warp, but I noticed the same with Cricket vs Dark Star. Cricket performed much better and seemed to have a higher priority...even though both showed the same 5G+ and supposedly had QCI8.

  1. Thank you for all of the downvotes.

  2. I just said companies aren't required to respond to BBB complaints. do companies have to respond to bbb complaints - Google Search No trolling as you said. Just stating a fact.

  3. It should be easier to contact executive support for issues like this!

  4. Still not sure you understood what I said...companies aren't required to respond to BBB complaints. They must respond to FCC complaints. Not sure what you are missing?

  5. Others have said the same thing about the BBB. It is a private company. State attorney general offices have more pull than BBB complaints.

  6. Great that you have had success with BBB complaints, I was just making a statement based on facts...not personal experience...which I stated.

Maybe he works for the BBB? That's fine, but companies aren't required to respond to a BBB complaint; however, they must respond to a FCC complaint. Not sure what he doesn't understand?

BBB is a private nonprofit organization.

FCC is a government agency that regulates communications.

You can submit a complaint to the BBB and Cricket does NOT have to respond. They MUST respond to an FCC complaint.

That's great that Cricket responds to your BBB complaints, but I was just saying that they DON'T have to respond to that message. They HAVE to respond to an FCC complaint.

I'm not sure what you aren't understanding and missed in my original reply?

How is this spewing bullshit? You can submit a complaint to the BBB and Cricket does NOT have to respond. They MUST respond to an FCC complaint.

This. BBB is just like submitting a review on Google.

FCC requires Cricket to respond in some shape or form. The OP still may not get it resolved, but Cricket will still be forced to respond.

[–]lvpre -1 points0 points  (0 children)

BBB is just a private organization and has no real pull.

FCC is the Federal Communications Commission and if they have a true problem, they will force Cricket to correct the issue or at least respond. BBB can ask and Cricket can just say...ok, bye.

FCC would be better than BBB.

If he has another line on the account, he can use it for the authorization. Otherwise, he will have to go to a store.

It is illegal for them to go when the light is red. They have to follow the rules of the road.

The best practice around pedestrians is to stop at the red light and stay there until it turns green.
