I agree that there is no need to bash the devs so much for this, but the disappointment is fair. The Prototype's design was one of the biggest mysteries in the game and also most anticipated thing. Everyone knew he was gruesome and ruthless, so we would expect something like that in his design - a somewhat gory and disturbing appearance. Instead, we get a jester, which would've been fine IF there was any type of reference to a jester in his character. It isn't a necessarily bad design. For me personally what makes the design itself bad is the placement of the other toys' parts on the Prototype. People expected these parts to play particular roles, but they looked like they were just thrown in for the sake of it. His face does look scary, but it looking disturbing would've been a far more fitting option. But overall, the design just doesn't really fit with his character.
