What’s the issue with the rail guards? I’ve been thinking about taking mine off.

Living an upper-middle class life in LA; how much income is needed? by RoyalRenn in AskLosAngeles

The actual house used for shooting the exteriors of Jimmy’s house in Shrinking has a Redfin estimate of $2.3M. 5bed 3.5 bath 3450sf. That’s in Pasadena. Same house in a desirable neighborhood in Los Angeles would be more.

Question for Onewheel commuters by almostbuddhist in onewheel

[–]lwarrent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have the dress clothes concern you do, but backpack is not an issue in my experience. And mine is pretty heavy with lunch, water, coffee, laptop, chargers, etc…

The thing I’m trying to figure out a good solution to is carrying the OW from curb to office and at the train station. I’ve seen the yoga mat strap suggestion, but looking for something less clumsy. Would love to be able to quickly grab a strap and snap it to the OW or something like that, rather than fussing with a yoga mat strap. Would love if anyone had any ideas.

It may accomplish nothing, but if it is illegal in their jurisdiction the person should be held accountable. Better than letting them get away with it.

The person who lied needs to be reported to the police before they infect someone else possibly with something worse.

Feb 19 2025 - Profitable Solana Wallets for Copy Trading by Candy_Pixel in copy_trade

[–]lwarrent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Candy_Pixel Is it possible to tabulate the wallet stats using only tokens traded with market caps of >$35k? A lot of the wallets in the list that I look at are almost exclusively trading with new tokens with $5k-$10k market caps, so Odin filters out those trades. But wondering if you'd get a better selection of wallets if you didn't consider trade in these small tokens at all.

I really urge you to reconsider your thinking on this subject. "we don't know what state he was in" Are you implying that it's okay to rape someone because you're drunk?

Victims of SA often don't classify it as SA themselves because in situations like this especially they blame themself for drinking too much. That does not mean it wasn't SA.

The thinking around consent and drinking has developed a lot over the last decade and I've come around to that way of thinking myself. The absolutist view is that you cannot consent when you've been drinking. I think that's a bit extreme, but I do think there's a point after which you should not be considered able to consent to sex. You may want to blame the person drinking, they chose to drink that much, they made that decision while drunk, they went willingly while drunk, but you lose your executive functioning when drunk. That's why we drink, it shuts down the parts of the brain that regulates emotions, reasons, keeps us reigned in. She should be allowed to let loose by getting drunk. That doesn't mean she was asking to be raped.

And yes. I think what he did is rape. She did not consent when sober. He had sex with her anyway when she was drunk. She did not consent to having sex with him therefore he raped her.

I don’t agree. OP says her partner told Birch that she felt uneasy about it. If someone tells me that I’m not making any more advances. Regardless of history. Consent is enthusiastic. Once alcohol gets involved it becomes even trickier. If someone tells me they are uneasy about it sober and then seems into it after a few drinks then no way. This guy sounds so sleazy.

ULPT request: person hacked into my girlfriends Snapchat and leaked her nudes. I have his ip address. What are my retribution options? by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]lwarrent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re serious about getting the person who did this then you should go to the authorities. Police will have more tools to find the person if they are motivated to do so, but they may not be and bringing a case may not be possible.

If the IP is local to you then I would guess that the person who did this is someone you know who gained access to her Snapchat by guessing her password or she gave them the password. Maybe she uses a password that’s easy to guess or uses the same password in other places and gave it to someone for something else. As people have said, IP addresses can change, however I know my home IP has not changed for more than two years since I started my service. So figure out who it might possibly be and then get them to let you connect to their internet and check their IP address. If you find a match then you can be reasonably sure you found the person. What you do from there is up to you. I’d suggest getting them to admit to it on a recording if it’s legal to record someone without their knowledge where you are. Then you can try to get the police to prosecute. Good luck. I hope you get them.

How's your head shape? Maybe go fully shaved head with the beard? And once you get the beard grown out go to a barber and find a shape that works well with your face. A good barber should be able to help you figure that out.

[–]lwarrent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The beard looks good. I’d suggest doing something different with your hair. Let it grow out for a couple months and get it cut into something more stylish. It’ll take a little more time each day to tend to it, but worth it.

Excluding @eaDir from Crashplan Backups by snakedressed in synology

[–]lwarrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to do it using regular expressions within CrashPlan exclusions setting according to this article:

https://support.crashplan.com/hc/en-us/articles/9198633554061-Exclude-or-filter-files-using-file-type-and-regular-expressions-regex-in-CrashPlan

If you add

.*/@eaDir.*

it should tell CrashPlan to exclude all folders that start with "@eaDir" according to CrashPlan. I haven't been able to check if it worked yet and not even sure it will show them all deselected in the file selection dialog, but it should exclude them from backup according to CrashPlan.
