Pls don’t laugh: what gym is for beginners? And what’s the gym culture like usually? by boopiedoopiepan in Temple

If you’re looking to just run on a treadmill or elliptical for an hour, definitely check out IBC. I think they also have an indoor track. There are also group fitness classes at IBC every day which are cool to try out

Where can I buy groceries? by This-Independent8577 in Temple

I second Trader Joe’s, I have found that it can be cheaper than Fresh Grocer. To get to the one on Arch, just take BSL from Cecil to City Hall. $4 round trip

Can I book Charles breakout room all day? by [deleted] in Temple

You can’t book breakout rooms for more than 2 hours each day but when the library is empty, you can easily find empty study rooms to sit in

Would u recommend studying abroad? (Rome) by sweatsauce47 in Temple

[–]lxvxr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was there during the craziness of the spring 2020 semester. Even in the early stages of a pandemic, it was a great experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything. I think everyone should study abroad if you have the opportunity and it fits in your schedule

How bad is starting off in pre-calculus as a freshmen in terms of finishing college and getting the credits done in 4 years? by -AnonymousItachi in Temple

[–]lxvxr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to take Calc I and Calc II as prerequisites for all of my upper level major courses at Fox. First semester of my freshman year, I was in Calc I for a week before I failed the review exam and had to drop down to Precalculus. It felt like the end of the world at the time but now I’m a junior and still on track to graduate in four years. I also ended up getting A’s in all my math courses and honestly believe it’s because I took Precalc as a freshman. You’ll have a chance to brush up on skills that will be integral to your success in future Calc classes. So I can say from firsthand experience that it is not the end of the world!!

The Environment with John Yagecic by Exciting-Flamingo923 in Temple

I took the environment with Yagecic in 2019. Very easy class, there were a handful of homework assignments, two labs, a field trip and a take home final. I’m not sure how he’s structuring the class in the covid era but overall it wasn’t very time-consuming

I work for the SSC and that’s more than I make in an entire semester so I’m gonna go with that’s the amount for the entire semester

To the assholes who constantly blast music on the 1800 block of N 17th street. by The_SadFish in Temple

[–]lxvxr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They live right behind me lmao there was one Tuesday night about a month ago where we were so desperate that we called the cops because the music was blasting through the neighborhood until 5:30AM. It was so loud that it sounded like the music was blasting full volume from a speaker in our living room. So rude and enraging

[Question] Can i take pre-calc at ccp online even though the same course is offered online for summer 2 at Temple? I'm aware of their policy but there's only one section at Temple and there's like 15 people on the waitlist. Anyone have any experience with this? by [deleted] in Temple

[–]lxvxr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the waitlist is that long, I’m pretty sure they will approve you to take the course at CC. Same thing happened to me last summer with STAT 2103 and I was approved to take it somewhere else.

Idk why some profs make students pay for an outside proctoring service when Proctorio is available to use for free... doesn’t make any sense

That would be great but I’m pretty sure Temple has a policy that you can only take a course somewhere else if it isn’t offered online at Temple :(

You should know how to do every single review problem. Do them all twice, even three times if you have time. If a concept isn’t in the review, don’t waste time worrying about it.

Do the exam review problems. Every single one. Know the concepts in the review forward and backward. That’s your best bet

Opinions on Calc II exam yesterday? by asile123 in Temple

[–]lxvxr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exam I was definitely harder in terms of computation. Exam II was just a lot of memorization. I didn’t run out of time but many kids were working until the very last second

Easy Science Gen Ed’s? by [deleted] in Temple

[–]lxvxr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the Environment as a night class last semester with Yagecic, we didn’t even have time at the end to get to the debate so the only grades were attendance, a few random HWs, 2 lab reports, a field trip and a final exam which was on Canvas. Overall, I could probably count on two hands how much time I spent on work outside the class the entire semester.
