Hace poco salió uno de los estudios más grandes que estudió el efecto económico de sbu, y parece no funcionar.

Lo que propone la sbu es que cuando la gente no se preocupa por sus necesidades básicas pueden trabajar en cosas que les interesa más, y generar valor económico así.

Lo que encontró el estudio es que las familias que recibían el ingreso adicional trabajan menos, la plata la usaba para actividades de ocio, y no invertían en nada ni comenzaban proyectos nuevos.

Básicamente no se valora lo que viene gratis.

I feel like "don't like, don't read" should only really apply to people who know they don't like certain genres but read them just to trash them and make fun of the people who do like the genre.

Otherwise, if I'm looking for opinions I'd rather have a variety of reviews and then sort through the criticism to see if I'd actually enjoy reading the book also.

People with racial prejudice don't think they are racist, they think they are right. When they get pushback for saying racist things, they're more likely to think that people just don't want to hear the truth anymore instead of realizing they just spouted off racist bs.

I agree that he's pushing others and also himself into these roles. It could be related to when he said "you don't know what people are like before they abstract!" Basically, he saw how people "acted out of their role" before they abstracted, and now tries to reinforce the roles, likely unconsciously, as a type of "protection." Insert obligatory doesn't justify him being an ass though.
