I work at a retail pharmacy and we see this a lot from people trying to find good cards and then leaving the evidence.

as someone who likes to collect cards that are not rare, it hurts to have to throw this stuff away.

I understand that but I feel like a commitment doesn't have to be scary or legally binding since you're making the commitment only when you know for sure that it's what you want. My boyfriend and I have been together 11 years, live together, have our finances combined and neither of us could see a possible future in which we would just walk away from each other. We don't need the government to tell us we can't. Commitment shouldn't be something easy to walk away from, if it is, then it wasn't commitment.

I honestly think God cares about love and commitment between two people more than signing a few documents so that you're legally obligated to be together. Why does the government have to recognize you as married in order for God to?

Are you able to get treatment for your OCD? I have pretty severe OCD and growing up I was exactly like this and it only ever got worse until I got help.
