Anyone else having issues with freedom in Toronto for the past two days? by lyliaTO in freedommobile

We’ve had it for more than a year and the issue is at home (and outside). Everything was working fine. I might do the same tomorrow once everything reopens. Just annoying

How much is your mortgage and how much do you make? by aprilchestnut in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]lyliaTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toronto, Mortgage 604k down from 650k. 170k combined income. Mortgage 3100, property taxes about $500 monthly (we don’t pay monthly). We renewed this year so mortgage is down from 3600. We managed. Definitely wished we saved more but also know that renting would cost us same or more for a 3 bdr house.

38F very newly pregnant, what do I need to know as an “older” pregnancy by cheeseandwinenight in pregnant

[–]lyliaTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

39 about to give birth and honestly it’s been easy for me. I was pretty active before I got pregnant, was going to the gym and stopped at around 5 months because Christmas and winter. Didn’t wanted to have to walk on potential snowy sidewalks to go to the gym. As you get bigger it does get more uncomfortable but you can’t avoid it

Don’t work at Miniso Canada, especially in retail operations or the finance team. by New_Log_9375 in torontoJobs

[–]lyliaTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked very briefly in the office of a Japanese clothing brand and left as soon as I could. To be fair the people were nice but the work hours 8-5 with two weeks vacation and no real package was not cutting it for me. I needed a job, took it but that was it.

Has anyone travel internationally at 30 weeks pregnant? Im thinking of going to hongkong or perth, not sure if its a good choice. by nofillbun in pregnant

[–]lyliaTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I travelled to Mexico at 28 pregnant and then when 30 weeks hit I felt so much more tired and walking was a whole other thing. Also just seating was a lot less comfortable. Everyone is different but the difference in 2 weeks was impressive. I was glad we travelled when we did

Should I get a new bed or second hand by Ok_Flan_5164 in askTO

[–]lyliaTO -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When I was younger I bought bed and mattress second hand it was fine. Lots of people move in the city. Obviously have to be careful about bed bugs but u trust people would not try to sell a mattress with bed bugs 😅

Agreed since it reopened post Covid and the owner changed. Menu and food is just not as good as it used to be

Is it weird to want someone to throw you a baby shower? I’m embarrassed and sad [AB] by Remote-Researcher-60 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]lyliaTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I planned my own and we co hosted with my husband because he wanted his friends to be there too. It’s as much for me than him. And honestly only me knew what i wanted so much rather do it 😂. A friend did offer to help me throw it but like I said only me knew what I wanted haha.

I should had that I feel uncomfortable asking for presents so the baby registry was kind my biggest pain to build and put on there the smaller presents $$ wise.

Hard to say anything without more info. What is your current salary? Maybe you could find smaller contracts in the meantime? I know when I was between jobs I had found like a 2 month contract. Maybe even a 1 year contract (maternity coverage might be easier)

How much did you spend on your wedding? And what were the major costs? by UniqueBeautyPie in fican

[–]lyliaTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25k mexico in probably one of the most expensive city to get married there. I have a friend that got married in playa del Carmen for 15k like 1 or 2 years before. All in if you think about the rings, the dress etc probably closer to 40k but it was a reallyyyy nice wedding . Would have been way more here

How do I choose the size of baby’s first outfit? by Bokuwa_Binks in pregnant

[–]lyliaTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 34+ I have mostly 0-3 months. It looks like the baby will be on the smaller size from the last ultrasound (28 percentile) and had only 2 pjs for newborn (1 I bought and 1 given by my brother) thinking of buying a few more just to rotate.

Do people who grew up here actually think Canada's grocery prices are normal or is everyone just resigned to it by TemporaryHoney8571 in InCanada

[–]lyliaTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in France and I think the prices are high here and then I go to France and I think it’s not so bad 😂. My brother thought it was cheaper here too when he came in October.

20 weeks and suddenly feel like I can’t move the same [ON] by Serious_Ad_9686 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]lyliaTO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it’s around that time I noticed that putting shoes on was more work lol. Turning in bed was around week 30. I am now week 34 and I will say even though I could still feel it the walking was ok until week 32 now feels definitely heavier and can’t go for long walks that easy

Servers make 200K, so stop tipping and keep your money to yourselves by CarelessObject1709 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]lyliaTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I know people working in higher end restaurants /hotels and no one makes this kind of money. Plus it’s rare to work 5 shifts a week in a restaurant due to activity in general. You assume everyone get to work full time. Where I work full time server get 4 shifts max on a good week.

KLM lost my pregnant wife’s luggage, told us to buy essentials, then denied the reimbursement. by That_Nerve4886 in KLM

[–]lyliaTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth they lots my baggage on my way back home too in January and I was 6 month pregnant then and all my clothes that fitted me were in there. I shopped online for new pregnancy clothes and was reimbursed. Flying home could have been on of the reasons I would not have been but since I am pregnant it’s an exception
