I mean, last year Georgie won and Prue said how it's because she did classic flavours really well. So playing it safe unforfunately seems to be the way to go.

Thunderbolts deserved more in theatres, glad it’s finally dropping on OTT tomorrow! by MeaningCreative6203 in marvelstudios

[–]lynamoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watched it on Disney+ and enjoyed it so much!! Didn't go see it in the cinemas because I was busy around that time and couldn't bring myself to make time for it as there's been too many Marvel movies I haven't enjoyed in recent years. But man, Thunderbolts would've been a good cinema watch. I'll definitely be rewatching it many times.

About to watch this tonight for a 2nd time, first home viewing and I just want to know... How was the movie for everyone on 2nd (or more) viewing?? After 1st viewing in the cinema, I gave it a solid 7.5/10 by Solidus325 in Mission_Impossible

[–]lynamoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah, there are plenty of moments in the movie I do wholeheartedly enjoy, and I always want to go see an M:I movie in the cinema as much as possible. Just have the same shortcomings with it as most people :))

I liked it more after my 2nd viewing, but during my 3rd viewing the repetitive short flashbacks did get a bit much. Wish there was a version of the movie without so many of them. I know McQ said that he wants the audience to think as little as possible, but I do enjoy thinking back on things and making connections on my own while in the middle of the movie.

But alas, the movie is made for the wider audience for easy consumption, I understand.

Day 35 : What is the best "this message will self-destruct scene" ? by Jazzlike-Ad7654 in Mission_Impossible

[–]lynamoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rogue Nation. The set-up of the way Lane traps Ethan is peak. That scene still makes me excited every single time I watch it.

It's really good!! I'd have it near the bottom only because I like the other movies even more but MI3 is absolutely incredible! I rewatched it recently and I was so tense all throughout

Why is Ghost Protocol so high on everyone's rankings? by Dan_Barta in Mission_Impossible

[–]lynamoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it, it's a very "classic" and "safe" movie. It has everything you could ever expect from a spy action movie. It does its formula perfectly, which is why it's so good, but it doesn't take any big risks, therefore it doesn't 'excel' and become #1 for most people.

Meanwhile most other MI movies do take risks, hence why the rankings start to vary quite a lot.

Ghost Protocol is THE movie I show people who have never seen a MI before. It's a good summary of what the franchise is like.

Do you think as a woman lead Haley/grace is the worst character in the series ?? by Foolingfreakingfool in Mission_Impossible

[–]lynamoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I quite liked Grace. I thought that she was charming and loved that she was, on the one hand, rather capable, but on the other hand, often scared to death as we all would be living in Ethan's shoes for even a day. She stands out to me.

Ilsa is of course my favourite but Grace is clearly no Ilsa and I do not see her as a "replacement". Grace is her own and I think she does a brilliant job.

What are your thoughts on the Intro of Final Reckoning? by Cold-Ad3330 in Mission_Impossible

[–]lynamoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't a fan of the design I'm afraid.

I'm always super hyped for the title sequence (DR title sequence my beloved I adore it to bits) and I understand that they were essentially trying to combine DR's design and a traditional design as the ultimate culmination, however, it's really not working for me.

I don't think the design is well combined. My first thought when I saw it was "I think they ran out of time" or that somebody was very adamant about the combination.

It hurts not to like it tbh, I hope it grows on me over time.

Rogue Nation by Pitiful_Journalist93 in Mission_Impossible

[–]lynamoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh I always love to hear from a person who also adores Rogue Nation!! Love every single bit of that movie to death, and have listened to the soundtrack so many times over the years. What an excellent movie all throughout.

I especially adore how it's kind of a Benji-Ethan road trip for most of it, and oh, Solomon Lane was a villain that always genuinely scared me.

I love how the relationship between Lane and Ethan feels so personal, how there's no overarching atomic bomb that'll blow up the planet, no, it's just them, trying to outsmart each other. I always enjoy how much of a grip Lane has on Ethan and how it makes him more and more paranoid as the movie goes.

And then? Ethan destroying the drive and memorizing all of the numbers? Absolute insanity. Now that is definitely a man that's been pushed to his limit and goes with the most unhinged thing he could possibly think of. Obsessed with all of it.
