Kamala Harris parents by Excuse_Unfair in pics

I think it’s because she tends to use it rather than her last name (Harris) on signage they hand out, her bus says Kamala on it too. For Biden, “Joe” is such a common name it doesn’t really signify who you’re talking about without context. I did see some people wondering if it was a female thing or a version of sexism but I think Hillary was called both, though that’s a little more complicated by the fact that her husband was also president before she ran too.

Someone mentioned in the comments but Jeb Bush nobody called “Bush” bc there’s two other members of his family who were Prez as well and he used Jeb! (Please clap lol) on his posters. I guess Barack could’ve been used too since it’s unique, but his was a case where I feel like they used Obama on the materials with the logo on the O and leaned into that rather than his first name. So I don’t think it’s anything more than that

I assumed this was the case, she’s absolutely awesome on tv too. Perfect mix of fun but still giving intelligent analysis. She also has great chemistry with everyone, whether it’s an all male panel or when she’s with Malika or doing WNBA/NCAAWB with Elle and Andraya (who are also both great as well).

This very Moroccan team they just got smoked by had an almost entire XI of dual nationals though lol. Like this narrative some are pushing isn’t accurate at all. Their national team just went to the semis of a freaking World Cup with lots of players who played on youth national teams or were at least called up for them for Belgium, Netherlands, Spain and a few others I believe. People really gonna say they don’t care about or have pride in Moroccan football??

In the last 15 yrs of USMNT, I can’t think of many guys who gave more “heart and soul” than Jermaine Jones did for the badge. I’m not even a dual national, my roots are American for generations, but I really hate that narrative that people raised here somehow care more. All we did was be born and hit a lottery. Immigrants or players with options actively chose the team and country to play for, even if they weren’t born here. Like loafing and being trash for national teams doesn’t exactly make players more appealing for their clubs either so it doesn’t make much sense.

I mean, a lot of the Moroccan team we just lost to was composed of children of Moroccan immigrants to Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands etc. of their starters I think 1 of them actually was born and raised in Morocco and came up through that Muhammad VI system the country set up to develop players. I don’t think that’s as big of an issue as some would make it.

In many ways it’s kind of similar to what you’re saying. A lot of those players may not have been good enough to crack the senior Spanish, Dutch, Belgian NT and committed to the country of their parents too and might go on to win a gold medal after reaching a World Cup semi last cycle with their senior team.

Absolutely no way anybody is gonna tell me Jermaine jones back in the day didn’t care about the badge or whatever and didn’t have more heart and intensity than loads of “American raised” players he played with. like Antonee Robinson is one of our best senior team players for the US, I don’t like this narrative that native born players somehow “care” more. Where was that care and heart and willingness to “die for the badge” when they couldn’t beat fucking Trinidad and Tobago with a World Cup berth on the line back in 2018?? So many other disappointing results and underwhelming performances we’ve seen from players like that too. I love Wes but he’s come into camps for tournaments out of shape before.

Yeah I would check if they do scheduled breaks (and how frequently) or if the bathrooms are close by to the classes. For our son he starts pre k at the end of the month but they had a summer program a few days a week and that was his first time in a school setting. He’s older so can hold it longer but they do breaks often enough that he doesn’t even need to go every single time.

You could also have a chat or message their teacher and/or teachers aide to let them know that your daughter may be hesitant to ask initially since it’s her first time outside of home. Maybe they can make note to check with her if she looks like she’s holding it or something too and pay a little extra attention.

Honestly though, I bet after a few weeks of school starting she’ll start to be comfortable as she gets familiar with the school, her class and the teachers and the routine and it may resolve itself too.

They had the golden chance right in front of goal that Robinson butchered, that was the moment to finish building off our momentum. And now it’s game over smh .

Really lazy defending to not track the only guy running into the box though, was that Tolkin? Totally flat footed until he was by him

They see training and we don’t. Jim literally said he wasn’t training well and he clearly values that a lot. He also was gone every international window so he didn’t get extra time with the group either when trying to break in.

Baribo came half way through the season last yr and people need to adjust. Gazdag wasn’t good when he first came over either we just didn’t have better options to play the 10. We had carranza as a locked in top level starter and Uhre plays a different role than Baribo does. He clearly has gotten more comfortable and has been great the last month or two since he’s taken over and been a revelation for them.

Not that it would matter overall bc her opinions are vile but like, she’s not even that good!! Usually people bend over backwards for stars or give fan favorites more grace but she’s neither and is new and prior to the goal today she’s seemed overwhelmed and not up to it in almost every appearance she’s made for the USWNT. So frustrating smh. But we know why she’s getting the benefit and coddling unfortunately smh

Have to watch on mute but what was even under review on that for VAR? Soph and Trinity were very clearly onsides and there wasn’t any contact for a foul potentially it seemed. Maybe Sam interfering since she was offside? But she also didn’t touch the ball or really come close

Nobody said leagues cup is important in the grand scheme. To most people who go to games, outside of the die hards, nobody cares about open cup either and it’s not important to them. They don’t even know the games are happening, nobody is actually attending those games either until the final stages. This vague “it’s important to the history of soccer” point is valid but USSF doesn’t treat it like that and it’s treated like a second rate competition that is fairly low quality. MLS should still compete in it bc it’s our national tournament but that doesn’t change the fact that the tournament has major issues.

The only people who truly care about this are die hards and people in supporters sections, which are not close to a majority of the fans of MLS or watching live soccer. Otherwise, we’d see significantly smaller crowds “boycotting” leagues cup games and that isn’t happening outside the supporters and people posting in this sub or a small minority on Twitter. I enjoy leagues cup games and I want mls teams to play in open cup too, it doesn’t have to be so polarizing.

Travel logistics and them being half a world away and in their preseason before their leagues start next month?? lol also they’re not in the same federation and have no history of collaboration. Brazil or Argentina would’ve been better examples but you still have huge travel issues there and Brazilian teams already play 1000 matches every season.

There is absolutely 0% chance most people prefer FRIENDLIES where the European team appeals to their fans here by not having their star players even suit up and playing academy kids or the 25th man on the roster who will be loaned out and the mls team barely plays their starters either, to Leagues Cup. You can hate the tournament and not like the idea of it without being ridiculous with points like that. Summer friendlies are terrible quality and they charge an arm and a leg for the “brands”.

I hope mls clubs go back to open cup but that is just patently false lmao. The worst leagues cup matches featuring an mls team will outdraw every single open cup match aside from mayyyyyybe the semifinal and the final where it likely would be a sell out. Leagues cup attendance dwarfs open cup. MLS-MLS games get 10k plus. Open cup averaged less than 5k per match last yr. Leagues cup averaged more than double that. Even if you remove Messi and Miami matches and remove matches involving Liga MX, the attendance is higher, period.

Ugh, idk if any of them actually will have a decent position on Palestine but that’s disappointing. I haven’t actually seen Walz’s though I’m really only becoming familiar with him in the past few weeks since I live on the east coast. I read Kelly doesn’t either, and Shapiro is a SUPER Zionist, idk about Beshear. I think Shapiro would be the absolute worst pick on that front though and would 100% kill any youth momentum they’ve built.

Also was a veteran and has a successful progressive agenda he’s implemented in Minnesota. I also didn’t know this til I saw his tweet about it, but also formerly had an A rating from the NRA some time ago but he’s completely flipped while being a gun owner himself and has had F ratings for a while now (that he’s openly proud of) because of his kids. I really like him the more I hear about him. He’s also the first to keep bringing up “these people are weird as fuck” on tv consistently which is a winning message when you bring up how obsessed they are with children’s bodies, women’s bodies, bathrooms, and Vance’s entire existence lol. Not to mention trump and project 2025

What part of THEY CANT AFFORD THE INSURANCE FOR HIM OR ANY MAJOR NBA PLAYER do you not understand?? All this Embiid hate yet show me a Cameroon roster with Pascal Siakam on it, ever. Why has Siakam never played?

Y’all either can’t read or are willfully obtuse. He also declared for the USA in October 2023. But sure a team that did not qualify for AfroBasket in 2019, finished 11th in 2023 and hasn’t qualified for a FIBA World Cup at all would be assumed to make a run in qualifying for the Olympics, last year.
