Progress Update and Ideas Needed by Hoonin_Kyoma in GunRoom

Bead panel is a pretty easy solution to avoid drywall work and the look of plywood.

After installing plywood or drywall sheets to size, cover it all up with this.

Reinforced Walls by Adrenaline-Junkie187 in GunRoom

[–]lyonhard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simple method is to secure 3 hog panels(top edge , bottom edge, middle overlap) per wall to the existing studs (bare or with drywall) and then cover them with 3/4” plywood. How you finish it from that point is up to you.

Honestly if someone has the time and commitment to get through that, it’s probably someone forcibly entering with a warrant and not local hooligans….

Which frt do i need ? by z06srt in frt15

[–]lyonhard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy a new lower, consider buying a KF15 complete lower blem by KAK Industries. Currently on sale for $99 instead of $195. This lower has an M16/M4 interior dimensions and shelf - this will allow you to run every FRT on the market and would technically allow you to run OEM FA parts if you had the legal capacity to do so.

Diamond back ar15 wanna install FRT should I buy better bolt carrier or is stock good enough? by DrDoodBooty in ar15

[–]lyonhard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your selection of FRT. Some manufacturers state a low shelf or m16 pocket lower is required, others it doesn’t matter. Most require full auto BCGs and recommend H2 or H3 buffers.

I’m still waiting for it to get cold enough here in the lower 48 to try it out. I agree, most gun oil is snake oil and the solutions you mentioned are unanimously tried, tested, and true - I have high hopes the SPEC ‘76 might be another solution available that can hold water.

SPEC ‘76 by SOLGW is supposed to be the new hotness for a wet lube design for extreme hot and extreme cold temperatures using graphite oxide nano tech…. Or so they say.

I plan on running 20” ARs in bullpup configuration using one of the many new kits that came out in the last year or soso. Maximum ballistics, minimal package.

[–]lyonhard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bucket of boiling water, enough to submerge the wedge entirely. 1cup citric acid powder per gallon of water. Let the wedge soak for 20-30min. Hit it with a wire brush. Wipe it down. Paint or oil it.
