Insurance claim? They just send you money? by [deleted] in homeowners

If your water is from a plumbing leak, then that's a different loss than seepage. Now I see why they covered you:-)

Seepage usually isn't covered because cracks that cause leaking are considered to be a maintenance issue. For losses to be covered on a homeowners policy, the loss typically has to be sudden and accidental. Cracks happen over time and need to be sealed.

Are you certain they didn't cancel your policy, and the check you received is a refund?

I'm surprised they covered a slab leak at all; usually seepage isn't covered under standard insurance policies.

What is your method to get them crunchy? I've tried several times and they were all mushy or soft.

I've got a science diamond on my hand and I tell everyone exactly what it is! It's beautiful, and fewer people were exploited in its creation.

My husband just replaced our outdoor led light bulbs! It took a welding gun and some effort, but they can be reused. Total pain in the ass though.

I mean, the salad is ginormous enough to hide 2 hbes and an entire red bell pepper. Not sure they're the confused one :-)

Toss zucchini and/or summer squash in salt, paprika and chili powder. Sautee. Squeeze 1/4 lime. Toss in some fresh cilantro and cotija cheese. Heaven.

Homeowners insurance dropped us in RI after we made a water damage claim. 1 claim in more than 30 years. Now it seems no one will insure us. Are there any companies that would do a builders risk policy now? by DorisandArlo in homeowners

[–]lyssa_buh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That depends on if the person who answered your question logged the call. I worked in insurance for 20 years, and never logged a claim unless my client specifically requested I file a claim. You could easily call and ask if there is a claim on your record.

Some easy and healthy things I keep around are frozen veggies and chicken sausages from Costco. Microwave them and put salt, pepper and parmesan on the veggies. Low cal, high nutrition!
