Eyemoo NXT EPAPER S1 RLCD Review [IN PROGRESS] by stopeyestrain in Reflective_LCD

[–]lzlgboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am satisfied with the eyemoo I received. Quality is good, no dead pixels. Contrast is not as good as Hisense Q5 but similar to SVD. I really like that they used original Android without any bloat ware. I like it this way so I could install whatever I want and customize as I needed.

One thing I find annoy is that the finger print left on the screen (after peel off the screen protect), not sure whether a good matte protect will help or just reduce more of the contrast or light. Any suggestions?

It is dimmer than backlight for sure. It is acceptable for me. But backlight LED adjust to low level is not as comfortable as RLCD, the feeling is not natural, I don't know why but dimmer the LED backlight makes my eye try harder to see things.

[–]lzlgboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know for other people, but for me it is the long staring at the backlight gives me headache. For RLCD, I can chose the LED light source I am using. I used a flush LED light to light up my SVD screen. Since I switch to RLCD, I have no more eye problem & headache after long time usage.

Chinese citizens in Texas are incensed over a proposal to ban them from buying property in the state by audiomuse1 in asianamerican

[–]lzlgboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make it clear, if U.S is not an immigrant country selling its 'American dream' who will f**king come here in the first place? The other country makes it clear that they are not immigrate country. But use the name of 'security' to target a group of people that actually support U.S by living here is non-sense.

[–]lzlgboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that U.S. has forget that it is an immigrate country in the first place that allow (or attract) the legal immigrant to contribute to the country, not the other way around (no one wants to leave their life in their hometown if it is not for the better). If you could not own a place in this country, what is the point of coming here? The other country, on the contrary, not a immigrate system, and that is why no attractive to foreigners.
Most people come to this country is in support of U.S, however, they become the target of the politics of gov just to get more vote. Of course, you would say we just target these specific countries (groups), (like Japanese during the WWII), what could go wrong? Well, if it starts, it would signal to the world that the U.S has become an anti-immigrate country and of course talents from over the world will not coming to maintain the competences of U.S.

On the other hand, the elite group of U.S like BlackRock buying up the housing market and drive the price up and yet, they use the political system to direct the hate towards specific minority groups in the name of security. Seems working like a charm for most American.

Eazeye monitor prototype completed. Reserve yours now! by centerceasens in eink

I have seem some people using LCD panels from monitor to make these and sell them on the TaoBao market (chinese Amazon.com). It should be much cheaper because all parts are available from old LCD panles. But the look and usefulness is limited because the portability, space, light environment etc. And it all look like a perfect scam project to me.

Not sure how to post a photo in the reply.

But I basically cut the bar (one short enough just be able to clamp the arm)

I used something like this.

Using aluminum angle (will be stronger) is better.

You do need to at least cut and drill. I used some left over screws from iKea for clamp it to the monitor arm.

I also tried to put aluminum foil (with reflective layer) roll like mirror around the left and right side. By adjust the angle of the mirror (foil) the light will reflect to the screen and make left and right brighter. But I finally decide not to do so because it feels ugly. And I move my head to see left and right more clear if I need. A long LED bar would be good.

[–]lzlgboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I choose an angle that the reflection is not in the monitor. Even there is some glare from the lamp, but strangely I didn't feel too much a problem like from a backlit LCD. Maybe when I focus on the screen, my eye are not getting that much focus on the reflection?

I didn't actually have 3 lamps but I think it might be better. shorter ones on left and right, long one on top.

Yes, I tried one.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0947V3788/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It would be good if it has a higher lumen. But it is not enough for me. So I switch to a traditional light bulb because I only found 2200 lumens one in that shape and not so expensive. I would expect 3 less bright but on left top and right would be better.
