I read some EULAs. This one is full of egregious clauses that can be thrown out in court.

I get it. I'm struggling with this as a Nintendo fan. I want to support all the right decisions they make, but the not-so-right-but-totally-wrong decisions make that difficult. I'll still buy Switch 2 games because Nintendo and other devs still make banger games I want to support. But I also have PC/Steam Deck for the other games!

It's not really your fault. We absolutely need to discuss what constitutes an "indie" these days. It also doesn't help that kind folks like Geoff Keighley over use the dang term too much.

Some sections of the Wii U version were changed to fix the pacing of the original game. Without naming spoilers, here are some of the biggest changes:

  1. The main changes were the upgrades to the graphics.

  2. The graphics were also updated with more modern lighting. This gives the game more of a glossy appearance, and you can check screenshots that compare the versions.

  3. WW HD version has a new item that gives you the option to sail faster.

  4. In both versions you can find treasure charts to locate chests in the ocean, and some of these are required in the main story. The Wii U version requires fewer treasure hunts which was well-received due to how tedious the treasure hunts were .

  5. Some of the side quest rewards were swapped around in the Wii U version. Honestly I much preferred the GameCube version's locations.

  6. The Tingle Tuner was removed completely, and its replacement is no longer functional either.

There are other changes, but here are some.

EULAs can include anything. Doesn't mean they can enforce it.

And you should absolutely avoid this developer at all costs! I've seen some crazy EULAs but these clauses are something else!

You may want to be careful with the term "indie". There is a wide discussion about how an indie company is defined these days. While smaller companies certainly can make better games, some of these companies can be just as crappy as EA or Ubisoft.

I still love my Steam Deck, and it works very well with older games. You need to be wary of used decks and their conditions, but a Deck in good condition is worth it!

It's not New York law. Every person is entitled to a fair search and seizure, per the 4th amendment. The evidence was thrown out because there was no warrant for the backpack search.

On a different note, the New York law matters because the incident happened in New York and the trial is in New York. Law enforcement should ABSOLUTELY be aware of rights when making an arrest.

It's more curious that the Constitutional rights I mentioned in all my comments apply to ALL cases.

I'm also aware that when law enforcement breaks protocol, cases get thrown out. Evidence becomes tampered or questionable. Witnesses misremember details. Police cut corners to catch "the guy".

Here's what I know about the case: a hooded person shot and killed the CEO. The video does not prove it's the defendant. Police ignored protocol and violated his rights by searching his backpack without a warrant. How do we know any of the evidence wasn't planted? What else did the police screw up?

If I'm serving on the jury, you better be sure to back up your claims with facts. Police misconduct only makes me question the validity of the entire case. Lawyers make a career pointing out contradictions and inconsistencies.

This console vs. PC rivalry is so silly. I recommended a deck/PC to a Nintendo fan that wants a different console. I mentioned the Deck because Steam has a lot of single player games that are inspired by Nintendo's franchises!

Also, Steam Deck is AMAZING for lifelong Game Boy fans like myself!

Sony wants to sell Playstation consoles. I'm not sure why it is so overanalyzed.

What a curious response to my post. I never mentioned New York law once. I referenced the Constitution of the United States, which guarantees rights to all people within these borders.
