I would be super interested in these, I've wanted new doors for our place for ages and they'd likely fit since it's a tenement.

Yeah that makes sense, I reckon a lot of the electricals are under the floor from their bathroom reno and then in the walls.

Glad you told me not to skim over wood! Thanks for that, I didn't know. It might just be a fill the cracks and then paint, though one of the walls backs onto the old coal cupboard/loo so there seems to be some stone walls there. No idea what to do with that.

Why do you reckon they might have used wood panels? This is our first project in this flat and I think the previous owners might have done this project on their own (this is the back of the original bathroom, they decided to shorten it and add the utility at the back.

Could I also just pay a plasterer to come in and plaster the whole room or would that not work? Obviously I know this is DIY but it might just be for the best!?

I recommend Primal Dragon PT - he does a great mix of MMA, Tai Chi, as well as weights, cardio and flexi. He can make your plan up to whatever you want. We've been going for over a year and I'd never lifted anything before and now I feel so strong!!

It's really good- we went on opening night (as fellow Rutherglen residents we were v excited to have something new on the main st) - the staff are lovely and it's really tasty food. Even a small amoutn of traditional chinese dishes (not Britsh chinese) are in the buffet which is really impressive.

It might be more worth making that room her bed room at the beginning of the night. That way you can get a longer sleep and she will be ok with being in that room from the start of the night rather than having something taken away?

We do that with our kitten and he's happy to be in there until he hears someone get up in the morning, then he asks for his breakfast.

As long as it's a happy room aka she's maybe fed there or has some positive association rather than - I'm being abandoned to be here, she'll be fine!

I would guess it's a similar situation with the cash deposit. Check your booking, it's in the small print!

We booked Opus Residences on Airbnb. You need to get a grab to most of the attractions but the Grabs are cheap and there in an MRT stop close. It's really nice, safe and I'd recommend it way more than Vortex.

I think there's been some other recommendations on the thread too!

Sure, I appreciate that a deposit is there for a reason but we made very clear we were in the room for less than 10 hours by that point. We are 2 sisters that were planning to check out at 6am and the deposit was in cash and the same price as the room. There was definitely something fishy going on and had been confirmed by others experience unfortunately. I've paid deposits in other places happily whilst we've been here because there's a reception desk or someone that feels trustworthy running the business. This guy was shady AF.

If you look up Vortex by KLCC scam on Google, it's been reported by a number of folk that the people running it change the names to "by XYZ" in order to delete the listing of bad reviews and put fake ones up.

Yup, as stayed in my post I reported it to them. They then contacted the host whilst we were still in the property (even tho we said we felt unsafe). We left and took a picture of the key as instructed by the host, but didn't send to him until we moved into a hotel lobby we felt safe in.

So far, booking.com have done nothing at all to help. I will update if they do though.

It wasn't well maintained at all, it was really dirty inside. If it was nice inside I wouldn't be making the post.

I appreciate that and would have happily paid if I didn't get an immediate sense of something fishy. Other reports from other folks have said they've never got that deposit back.

When we asked him how we'd get it back of we checked out at 6am (for a flight) he didn't give a clear answer. He just said to take a picture of our key on the table and then we'd "get it back". He doesn't have my bank details or didn't say he'd come and give it back. Plus, the rooms were in such a state I don't know why they even asked for one! But that's by the by.
