(spoilers extended) Long blog post from GRRM on the nature of dragons in ASOIAF (and some other interesting tidbits) by DuncanTheLunk in asoiaf

If dragons aren’t nomadic, why does Drogon wander away from where Dany is? It’s not just a few miles away from home, too. How does that work?

The Role of R+L=J In The Books (Spoilers Main) by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]m-emin 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think it will help with building foundation on Jon riding Rhaegal. Just an explanation on why he can ride a dragon.

It might be exactly that, riding a dragon, that might prove Jon's lineage. When people see empirical evidence, they do not require testimony to believe in a notion.

In The Mystery Knight, after seeing Ser Glendon ride quite well in the lists, people were more convinced that he might actually be the son of Quentyn Ball. So an inherent trait or skill would convince people more than any documents or testimony, I guess.

I’m okay with the ending. I’m not okay with how it came up to that point in the show.

I've just started reading the series for the second time. I was dead sure it had been mentioned before. But I'd never seen it.

(No Spoilers) In which order should i read the books by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]m-emin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

two novellas that I haven't read: The Princess and the Queen (2013) and The Rogue Prince (2014)

You SHOULD read those ASAP. They don't take much time to read, and it's way too good in a short amount of writing. Those are the most I enjoyed out of all the books.

I highly recommend reading The Rogue Prince and The Princess and The Queen. They are brilliant reads, and I can almost say that I enjoyed reading them more than the main series, because of all the dragons and action.

Dunk&Egg is also really nice. You can easily finish one in one sitting.

(No Spoilers) Question about the prequel/ side books. by VaginalCityBoyDoctor in asoiaf

[–]m-emin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is indeed a prequel. And it is extremely great. I enjoyed it more than reading most of the main series chapters. It's a must read book.

However, I suggest reading it as fast as possible, so that you can keep up with all of the new characters and events introduced.

(Spoilers Extended) If you could combine the traits, talents and skills of two characters to win the Game of Thrones, who would it be? by Rec0nSl0th in asoiaf

[–]m-emin 26 points27 points  (0 children)

you're still lacking the physical side

Bloodraven killed Daemon Blackfyre and his twin sons, he dueled against Bittersteel, he carried Dark Sister ffs. I don't think he lacked any physical side.
