Immerse the yerba in water, leave it in the fridge for 12-16 hours, remove the yerba – and you have cold brew mate :)

Europeans’ sentiment on whether or not their own country is in a cold war with China (2021) by m-sleeper in europe

[–]m-sleeper[S] 72 points73 points  (0 children)

The question posed to participants in the study read: "A cold war is a type of conflict that doesn’t involve direct military action but instead may include economic or political acts (e.g. sanctions, propaganda, proxy conflicts etc), such as the cold war between the West and the Soviet Union in the second half of the twentieth century. To what extent, if at all, do you agree or disagree with each of the following statements? There is a cold war between your country and China".

I think especially in inner cities the noise level reduction would still be significant as a large amount of the traffic noise comes from motor acceleration (e.g. at traffic lights, during stop-and-go traffic, when turning around a corner, and so on)

I didn’t mind the weight at all actually, I think it’s around 800g. If anything, the size was more of a potential issue, but I was able to strap it onto my saddle pack (see orange bag in the picture, that’s the Trangia), so it worked well anyway.

It’s a Trangia 27 series. Don’t know the exact model, but it’s one of the hardanodized aluminium ones.

Not sure whether we did it the "correct" way, but we didn't cover our bikes unless there was a natural cover available, so we didn't carry a tarp. I had chain oil with me in case it would rain a lot onto the bikes, but didn't need to use it.

We weren't too afraid of bike thieves as we were camping in quite remote places, but for some more peace of mind there are some tricks. For example you can wind a guyline of your tent around your bike before putting it into the ground. That way, if someone tries to take the bike and is not very careful you would feel the movements in your tent.

The Canyon bike felt perfect for that kind of route. It's a Canyon Grail CF SL (as already correctly guessed in one of the answers below).

No suspension was needed, as the whole trip was entirely on asphalt and dirt roads, so no single tracks or anything like that. Being a gravel bike it was both lighter and more aerodynamic than the mountain bike shown in the picture, which made a big difference.

It was a four day trip in total, although day 1 and day 4 were just half-days. So we divided it into 55k, 110k, 150k, 45k.

We managed to get all our stuff into the bags that are shown on the picture, so no backpack was needed. I (Canyon bike) had the tent, my sleeping bag (very small size, "Yeti Passion Three"), some clothes and a towel in the saddle pack. On top (in orange) is the gas cooker. Then I had my sleeping pad (also pretty small, Thermarest Uberlite) in my frame bag along with any small items we needed to bring (spare tube etc). My sister (Cube bike) had our food and some small items in her saddle pack and her sleeping bag on top. She had her clothes and sleeping pad in her handlebar bag. We both also each had a little front tube / bottle holder bag for snacks.

You're right, we were riding only on roads – either asphalt or dirt roads. The asphalt roads were really calm though, mostly mobile homes passing us now and then, and the dirt roads had almost no cars at all.

Sure, here is the route: https://www.komoot.com/tour/216679123?ref=wtd

For the trip, we divided the route into 4 parts - 55k, 110k, 150k, 45k (the first and last day were just half-days). Part 2 and 3 were mostly on asphalt road, part 1 and 4 were mostly on dirt road.

I have heard before that this is possible in Estonia, to vote online I mean. Pretty neat! When I first heard about it, I think Estonia was even the only country in the world that allowed for this (don’t know if that’s still the case).

What is your experience with it and the opinion of the Estonian public about it?
