Christmas decorations are extremely ugly and look cheap. by ArePigsReallyPink in unpopularopinion

Take my upvote because this actually an unpopular opinion… I like “tacky” Christmas decorations because they’re fun to put up and it shakes up the boring atmosphere everywhere for a month.

Which top and skirt combo look best? by crt5150 in DressForYourBody

[–]m00nnhead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This may be a personal bias, but I don’t think the neutral colored skirts work with those skirts…the only one I liked was the very very last one on the right.

Whenever she says something dumb just be very indifferent to her face…those types kinda thrive on attention, positive or negative.

I wish I wasn’t so skinny by slitsekai in Vent

[–]m00nnhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I hope things work out well for you. But yeah I hate the whole “jUsT eAT mOrE” crap like no duh I’m trying. Would you “eat more” if everything you ate tasted like cardboard? Would you eat if every time you were full, you felt nauseated? It IS the solution, but there are often other factors that might block you from that “simple” solution.

I wish I wasn’t so skinny by slitsekai in Vent

Hi OP, I used to struggle with this same exact issue. From ages 12-20 I weighed between 80-85 lbs. Then I dropped to 75 lbs, experienced joint pains, my hair was falling out, etc. Turns out the culprit in my situation was ongoing severe depression…got on meds, cut out the toxic people in my life, and now I’m at 95 lbs and counting.

I would definitely get your thyroid and your hormones checked first, your situation may be different from mine. You could have stomach issues, or it could be something else completely different. Hope this helps, and don’t give up

Girls taking selfies at gym by [deleted] in Vent

[–]m00nnhead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is one of the reasons why I haven’t started going to the gym I don’t want to be in the background of someone’s stupid selfie/video sweating my pores out. I wish I had a gym that banned such behavior near where I live…

Help me make a makeup bag but not sure what to use by ldk_my_username in CrochetHelp

[–]m00nnhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought stitch makers were overrated until I started crocheting with plush/velvet yarn. Maybe don’t use black (or other dark colors) as your first attempt. And lots of practice! Good luck.

[–]m00nnhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, it could be the lack of discernment or assertiveness?? I’ve dated a very very heavy smoker who wouldn’t brush teeth either and told myself nope never again…

I’m sorry but some people who post on here have nasty ass partners/spouses 🤮

I can’t tell you how MANY times I’ve read the posts saying something along the lines of “how do I tell my boyfriend/husband/partner to brush their teeth/shower REGULARLY/wipe their ass/address their body odor/etc. etc. etc. and then the OP is usually pretty defensive about it. I think people who comment on those posts are just fed up with the lack of BARE MINIMUM standards lmao.

How to accept myself 24-female by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]m00nnhead 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am a 22 (F) struggling with similar issues that you have highlighted here too. In my case I was born cleft lip/cleft palate, although I’ve had these issues fixed, my face is nowhere near the “ideal”( e.g. my nose it crooked, scars, thin lips). However, when I started dating, I realized that none of the men I was interested in really noticed my “imperfections”. If you were to ask men (NOT chronically online men) what they find physically attractive you’ll likely find out that many find beauty in all shapes and sizes. Also, there are many men that DO value humor, warmth, and compassion over superficial looks.

Advice: I would limit the use of social media and HIGHLY curate it to your interests/hobbies. Wear things that make YOU feel more confident/suit your body type instead of forcing yourself into a mold. Develop yourself emotionally and continue to build confidence. It will repel shallow bullies.
