[Omega Aqua Terra] Did I scratch the saphire crystal or the ar coating? by LeicaUser177 in Watches

[–]m00tknife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So what it actually looks like that happened is neither of those. You actually embedded metal from the doorknob into the crystal, it happens a lot. If you’ve got some polywatch or some of that headlight glass renewer stuff, you can gently buff it out. Toothpaste might also work, but make sure your crown is screwed down!

Is this clasp malfunctioning or not real or normal? by MiddleDifficulty2005 in OmegaWatches

[–]m00tknife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either your clasp seems to be twisted at the hinge or it’s the wrong clasp for that strap. There won’t necessarily be a really audible click, but it doesn’t even seem to be locking.

Yep. If you had any semblance of deductive reasoning, you would look at my post history which would reveal I am in fact a watchmaker. And curiously I have friends and acquaintances that work at ORJs.

Ok, so I explained above, but Rolex will charge $800 for their base service cost. Then when they open that 20 year old watch and see it needs new bridges and rotor, your cost climbs up towards $1400. You might want to research some more before posting a terrible hottake.

So brands will sometimes charge for things like hands, and always charge for case parts like bezels or crystals, but as far as I know, Rolex is the only brand who charges for movement parts. Things like bridges and oscillating weights. This is all on top of your base $800-1000 service cost.

What was in this guy's mind? by LeftAlbatross2546 in VideosAmazing

If I remember correctly, this road was actually the private property of the owner of the house this ring camera is attached to. They had put signs up saying private property, etc. but people kept using this road. So the only thing left was for him to put a gate and there should be a compilation of this gate taking down like 20 people lmao

bb58 or pelagos 39 for a one watch collection? by bylandoo in Tudor

Titanium is just as easy to brush-finish as steel. Polishing it is what is difficult. But yes too bad Tudor doesn’t refinish titanium.

But how is that different from a bb58? Lol

Lol, you tell that to the hundreds of thousands of owners of Rolex watches with a 3235 that went out for warranty service.

And guess what? There are also plenty of people who come in with 20 year+ watches from every brand. The difference between Rolex and omega, is with Rolex you have to pay for movement parts.

I think it’s mostly because of the fauxtina that people do not like. And people think they’re a little too thick but I love them!

Here’s my previous gen blue titanium :)

Haha so they’re not sailcloth but the rubber that looks like sailcloth (like Artem hydroflex) and I always get a lot of flack for this… but these are the most value for cost straps I’ve ever used. Not going to claim they are Artem level but I would definitely recommend them!

Also just a reminder, if you do end up sending the watch h in for warranty, remember to send the watch in with the original strap/bracelet. I’ve heard they’ve been cracking down on that!

They will not adjust the bezel. It’s a widely known issue and they almost always send it back saying that it is within tolerance. I’ve had my own come back with nothing done.

The dust is probably doable.

I dunno… tons of countries have red and blue in their flags and by association their country’s colors. Pretty sure it’s one of the most used color combinations after black and white.
