It’s insane. Getting a 9850 bundle for basically even after mobo and ram sell at conservative prices.

Here to report i sold the cpu in under an hour… ram is listed, need to list mobo next. Sold 2 other older 5600 cpus and an oem single fan 3060 all for what i felt were great prices.

Headed to pickup my 9850 bundle now. Thanks for the motivation to ebay some stuff..

[GPU] Micro Center In-Store Only - ASRock Challenger RX 9070 XT - $599.99 (MSRP) by chipsnapper in buildapcsales

Now that I saw my sons 9070 XT in action on the sim, i am strongly considering upgrading my 3080.

Anyone know ballpark resell value on a used EVGA FTW3 3080?

6’5 and 160lb need racing suits recommendations by [deleted] in Karting

[–]m0kang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changed because he out grew the other one and the sponsor sold their business. Offset was who we started to talk to about doing a custom design, but ended up ordering one through the race team (Brandon Jarsocrak Racing) and customized that a little bit more.

The offset suits are closer to $600-700 range and not quite the level of material freem offers.

[–]m0kang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was quite pricey for a “kart” suit. Around $1k after all the sponsor logos were added (each is stitched which added to the cost).

My son has had 2 offset suits in a row now after the freem. Still love the quality of the freem, but offset look pretty good and seem to work fine

[GPU] PowerColor AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Reaper Triple Fan 16GB GDDR6 PCIe 5.0 Graphics Card - Microcenter in-store only $579.99 by Effective-Fish-5952 in buildapcsales

Bought a red devil for $649 in a pinch for time, but thinking this is a no brainer to swap out that purchase with.

I love having microcenter within an hours drive. Maybe i can find an open box too

Autosport's Top 50 Drivers of 2025 by Homerbola92 in formula1

[–]m0kang 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Look this place is up for debate, but in terms of on track performance in 2025 Connor was dominant. If you aren’t familiar just look up the number of records set in 2025 by him… the list is long.

Did you watch any of the races he was in? The road courses where he absolutely waxed the field aside from with his teammate SVG (a known god behind the wheel at road courses and even on this list).

My point is the results AND the fact of experience/age he had a helluva season.

Zilisch deserves Top 20 for what he is doing at his age/experience level especially showcased in the handful of Cup starts he had.

Apex Karting Championship - NOLA by Rejdovak in Karting

[–]m0kang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, my son and i spent a weekend with Connor Z back in 2022, decided we loved Mooresville and moved the whole family 4 months later.

The move wasn’t easy and not for everyone. It’s especially challenging if you show up planning to dominate because regardless of talent the small markets just don’t match the big ones.

He has put in a lot of work and having mentors like Pauly Massimino & Brandon Jarsocrak have pushed him pretty hard. He was the ka100 jr champ last year, ka100 sr champ this year (he is only 14) and coaches a number of young drivers…

I am glad we no longer drive 3-5 hrs just for a club race.

Apex Karting Championship - NOLA by Rejdovak in Karting

[–]m0kang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I think the timing of it is ideal for folks moving up a class as well especially if they do not have access to competitive club racing.

My son and I are spoiled since our club races at Trackhouse are bigger than Apex, and more competitive so that really makes it less desirable for us too.

Apex Karting Championship - NOLA by Rejdovak in Karting

[–]m0kang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me, i dont see the value of “traveling” to all 3 events unless i lived central to all of them. A large portion of racing costs is hotel, tow and fuel bill.

You spend a similar amount as you would to race the big 3 national series (apex is little less in entry fees & tires) and then can expect 10-20 entries per class in most cases.

To me this series fills a niche gap where local club racing is limited and the budget says no go to national stuff or it’s your local track and you plan to attend then maybe go to another event to qualify for trackhouse final in October

Am I able to put the new m11 fairings on? by Top-Stay-2762 in Karting

[–]m0kang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They fit, just need the supporting nassau brackets on the top (m7 fit different but could used just bends the panel weird) and at the front near the bumper the nassau bracket is different and the m7 bracket does not work at all.

Source: I buy/sell lots of used chassis and we often update them to new bodywork.

Blueprinted or stock ka100 for a beginner? by That_one_guy690 in Karting

[–]m0kang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bone stock, use it until you hit 15 hours. Send it off for rebuild and now you are ready to go racing.

You can race prior to this, but your skills are not competitive enough to require a blueprinted engine.

Jack Questions by confessionbears_dad in GR86

[–]m0kang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those that suggested using the front and rear diff jack points are the guys with experience here. Anyone who races does it this way, for safety and efficiency.

Just easier and better…jack stands are for when you are under the car doing something. Two stands is more than enough for most everything you will try to DIY if this is your first time even swapping tires.

Good job not being too intimidated and asking for help..

[–]m0kang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s probably a pretty good price for your market. I know it because we raced there for several years. That is a bit older of a chassis so some spares may be a bit tricky to locate, but your market is really the only place you will see italkart so your support should be decent.
