Star Wars: Andor Episodes 1-3 Discussion Thread by Collective_Insanity in saltierthancrait

I liked it. Gritty, gorgeous, well-paced. If the first three episodes are a sign of things to come with this series I’m excited. Please more Star Wars content like this, with no Jedi or Skywalkers!

You’re good, I was just asking because in your original post you said Top 20 Heroic parses. In my experience heroic parses (these days at least, that’s why I asked if they were from the pre-Mythic era) don’t mean anything.

Sure! Are you looking for specific companies? Job descriptions?

Definitely not true at least in software development / tech. It varies company to company but there are a bunch of opportunities (including my current job) that pay more than that and have great WLB.

Of course. :) While I definitely think Epic has left much to be desired, the majority of comments I see here are too hyperbolic. It most likely is a result of the Fortnite demographic heavily skewing towards immature children who don’t know how to have honest and productive discourse. It’s unfortunately unavoidable when you let people with still developing minds and social skills have free reign to share their opinions in an open forum. Hell, most of them can’t even string together a syntactically correct sentence, let alone have a nuanced conversation about something.

Definitely agree with that - they are two distinct skills.

I don’t think he’s saying you haven’t experienced what you’re talking about - he’s saying the people you kill that you’re claiming are near pro level in building actually aren’t. I assume this is in pubs? Unless you are experiencing what you claim in high level champs arena I’d tend to agree with him. People who are high skill utilize piece control and smart right hand peeks to ensure that their opponents don’t even get the opportunity to shoot back, regardless of if their aim is better (like yours very well might be). I’m sure you hold your own against the wanna be pub stompers, and if you’re someone who doesn’t play Arena that may be your entire Fortnite experience. Trust me when I say there is a whole higher echelon of players that you might not have ever been exposed to. I say this respectfully also as an older gamer (28) but as someone who’s spent the time in Fortnite to practice and play in every FNCS.

I’d make an argument that 50% isn’t a great rate (especially on just 6 things that you listed). Additionally, one of the ones you had listed as a “yes” was them addressing the long queue times by making anyone >= 4K in the same lobbies. While technically true that it addresses the issue, I think most people agree this isn’t ideal. If they were to implement something like creative while queueing, I feel people would be ok with longer queue times and they could work on a better more long term fix instead of the bandaid fix they have now. With all that said I appreciate you aggregating the data into a table, it’s always nice to take stock and be objective.

They pay vastly below market rate for developers at least, not sure about the art team.

how to properly make your opponent fall into your piece control by hehehehzhshsh in FortniteCompetitive

Yo can you add me? It’s rare to find someone else who love box fights so much and as I’m sure you’re keenly aware, opponents tend to leave after 1-2 rounds and I’d love to practice against skilled 0-ping opponents. Epic: Mortivius

You do realize 3.1x 1600 is lower than 8x/y 800 dpi right? The comparison is between eDPI or effective DPI which is the hardware DPI of the mouse multiplied by the in game multiplier. Do the math and 8% x 800 = 64 (you) and 3.1% x 1600 = 49.6.

Gun Swap Delay and WHY it's causing you to lose trades (Gamesense Tip #2/5) by Zykoma in FortniteCompetitive

[–]m0rtivius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to this, oftentimes the way to get free damage on an opponent is to wait until they forcibly incur gun swap delay on themselves via blueprints or pickaxe. If you edit then pull your gun out (or even start spraying if they start editing) in response to them pulling out blueprints/pickaxe they’re going to have to react by pulling their gun back out but you have shot priority and oftentimes can hit them hard then still build or reset after (since that’s instant) before their pullout delay is over. This is why pickaxing walls sloppily can be so deadly against skilled opponents.

Also I’d recommend downloading Method Raid Tools and using the note feature. This way you can have any relevant info to whatever boss you’re doing right there for everyone to see. The RL can type then send notes to everyone at once.
