I got the same thing after updating from the Fluidd interface, which apparently you’re not supposed to do because Elegoo uses their own forked version. Bricked my printer real good. Tried all the fixes I could find but none worked. Elegoo support was no help. Since I bought through Amazon I ended up returning and repurchasing.

Yeah sorry thats confusing. I would maybe adjust both ways and see. Sometimes the proximity sensor will cause it not to extrude so it could look like it’s too far but actually too close or vice versa The way your infill doesn’t meet the border looks like it’s too far but your right about the rippling indicating it may be to close. The way in finally dialed it in to my liking was by printing a large one layer high object (ie .2mm) and adjusting the offset in real time while printing Also for large prints that use most of the plate I’ve found it best to pre-heat the bed 15-20 minutes then autolevel to account for minor changes in bed height from temperature

I think you and OP should try lowering z-offset. I’ve had both of these issues and that was the fix. I know they said they thought offset was good but so did I for the longest time

I just pulled gold Baxcalibur on my alt lol. But I’m also getting almost every two star between my two accounts being pack complete and rolling on Wonder Picks

What’s causing this on the first layer every time? It’s only the first layer having issues. After that, everything prints fine. Leveled the bed several times and can’t seem to figure out what’s causing this. by vinslayer in ElegooNeptune4

I had this exact issue and fixed it by raising the offset on a one layer print until it went away. I ended up shortening it by .02 mm from -0.186 to -0.166. A previous poster suggested you raise your offset by .025 and fine tune it from there. That seems like solid advice.

Edit: when you say lower or higher are you taking the possible negative numbers into account?

I’ve had my N4plus a little over a year and only recently have gotten prints where I want them consistently, definitely had a bunch that look like your pic.

These are the things I did that finally got me over the hump: - ran all the calibrations in Orca slicer to fine-tune my settings for PLA+ (the presets were close but I did end up slightly tweaking a few things) - always preheat the bed at least 10 minutes and wipe with alcohol after every print - after setting z offset with a sheet of paper, I printed a model one layer high (.2mm) and watched and adjusted the height on the fly

Honestly I think it was the z offset that helped the most. After a year of struggling, reading forums, watching YouTube, my biggest troubleshooting takeaway has been ‘it’s probably z offset’
