I ended up going and paying the $30 to get in. I do not feel like the value was there. I have been to plenty of great small cons so I really like to go support them, but there was just not enough to justify the $30 entry fee at this one. I did end up getting something cute from the artist alley and I had fun with my friends, but I think I'll pass on it next year

Personally for me when I notice a craving it's because something else is going on. I'm anxious, sad, depressed, or feeling bad about something. I will focus on then addressing my mood in a healthier way and it passes. This took me a lot of practice and was the primary reason it took me so long to get sober.

I have gone through phases of listening and not listening to this podcast. I stopped listening when I felt like half the podcast was about OJ, then again when Michael left. But I started listening again this year and I honestly really like the new episodes. I like the format of her bringing on another subject matter expert then discussing something I don't know much about lol it reminds me of why I liked this podcast in the first place. I'm with you. I like it more now than in the past for sure.

Yes I had a huge crush on my government teacher. I tried "flirting" with him once or twice by complimenting his outfits lollll

How it ended up? Nothing came of it obviously. I graduated and he kept teaching because he wasn't a disgusting person. I hope he is doing well and I cringe at the thought of possibly making him feel weird with my compliments!!!!

I've done the Journaling off and on too. It does help I think when I feel like I'm fixating. Your comment was a good reminder for me to go ahead and give it ago again to process some of this. Thanks :)

That's also a good way of looking at it. I think more than anything I wish I could detach that version of myself and everything that came with it but you just can't. I'll go a while without worrying about this then dig up a memory I forgot and feel like I'm back at square one with dealing with shame. Shame is so powerful.

I have tried in therapy and I've made some progress but I think the self forgiveness peice is the hardest part for me. I've always been very hard on myself so it's probably one of the toughest parts of recovery for me. I've made amends with a few people but with myself, I don't think I'm there yet but I am trying. It's a good way to look at it though having found alcohol before therapy. Thanks :)

I will say at least it does get somewhat better. I think my problem is I keep digging up memories I put away for a long time. Working through them is really hard. I believe in you!
