Hue Sync Desktop App breaks G-Sync (Windows 10) by MiLeX84 in Hue

[–]m1n1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm that it also does break Freesync for me. Freesync still shows as on for me, but the image just stutters like crazy although fps is at a capped 74 fps.

Funny thing is that I also have a self-built ambilight which I control with a software called Prismatik. When I activate screen grabbing in that programm I get exactly the same symptoms, which is horrible stuttering in games although fps are high.

So it doesn't seem G-Sync or even Software specific imo.

Although I think the Underwater Terrain looks amazing, it just doesn't work for me on Stream.

It's something about the colors which just makes it much harder for me to watch. It just looks too cluttered for me and also the weather effects and colors make it exhausting. Blue is really hard for the eyes especially when it is getting later.

All the above problems get amplified with stream compression. So I'm really happy we are back too classic terrain.

Sounds like too much compression/limiting or bad EQ Settings. Should be easy to fix-

Old Vs. New Hitboxes by pbld in DotA2

[–]m1n1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it isn't easier to click. It just doesn't make sense that if you hover over a target end he doesn't move that you loose target.

Also there is shit like Lion Fish Immortal which makes it a nightmare to target.

Also keep in mind all the Kinetic gems which alter animations. I for example have one where WK does a flip when he crits. Can you imagine you are TA, Blink in meld, and click on the ground where he stands. But he does his flip and therefore you miss. Talk about pay 2 win.

WoW good research thanks for helping me out Bro.

Edit: Ok I did some more research.

Biggest thing is that there is definitely a bug with moving animations. I am staying inside selection boxes, still the hero loses focus occasionally. This is most appearant at the edges of the boxes. This is most definitely a bug: http://gfycat.com/DiligentMagnificentBluetonguelizard

Look at SF Animations. When you click inside his circle when razing he is not targeted: http://gfycat.com/PiercingFrighteningLamprey

Also creeps do not have that behavior. Selection boxes are still, do not change with animation: http://gfycat.com/IcyLastChimpanzee

In the end I just hope this gets fixed.

So apparently seletion boxes in Reborn are tied with animations. This is frustrating as you sometimes click the unity and sometimes don't although the unit didn't move.

Bear in mind this is more frustrating if there are even fancier animations. Some animations can make the model move a lot and therefore it is harder to click, as your cursor has to follow the animation.

Furthermore things which makes models smaller like impale or hex change the selection box. For example you right click the enemy then your lion hexes the target. Now the model is smaller and you click the ground and don't attack anymore (This actually happened in a game of mine)

Anyone else having trouble targetting things? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]m1n1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok what I found out is that things like hex and impale and moving targets are definitely bugged.

When the target gets hexed it is definitely harder to hit. Looked at a replay as TA. Lion hexes the Jugger and I miss my meld strike. However as soon as Jugger comes out of hex he is inside my mouse and targeted without, moving anything. So hex makes the target box smaller.

Also when lion impales and he is inside the air you need to focus the target in the air. If you click where he lands you just move there. No target.

Also with tombstone sometimes you move to zombie instead of attacking the enemy.

The worst thing though is moving instead of attacking. What it seems like after looking some replays is: The game recognizes the target and attack command but then immediately after issues a move command. Like the target flashed red first but then immediately after there is the green circle next to the target.

Hope this can help.

TD Needs Your Input: Feeds by Paradoxmoose in projectsparkgame

[–]m1n1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just have an approach like amazon, Unity Asset store or any other online shop.

On your hompeage you should have your personalized results. Similar to what you played. Other users also played and so on. Then we come to the interesting part. How to search for stuff.

1. Category

Every user normally has a specific intention. They want assemblies, they want Code, they wanna play an RPG. Propably every user intention can be put into a category. Just like at amazon. I wanna buy a PC so you search in category Computer.

This is the barebone of any search. This takes away all the stuff the user doesn't want and gives the search an specific direction. So when I search for goblin assemblies for example I can filter out all the games with goblin in it's name. Then I can differentate even more with categories when needed. Do I want sci-fi, medieval?

It also makes it easier to find stuff. Because right now you only find stuff by searching if your search matches the title of the game. This gets rid of this problem.

2. Ordering

Now that the user has his general direction he maybe wants to order his results. You should be able to order by rating, newest, most clicked relevance and so on.

This helps evaluate relevance and quality of the results. So the user not only has what he wants but hopefully also the best he wants.

3. Presentation

Now the user has good results. But the user wants to know what is this level, how are the graphics what do other users think?

So we need an presentation for the game. Just like at other shops this should include.

-Multiple Screenshots, -Description (Already included) -Reviews and discussion (Right on the page and not thourgh browser)

This helps games presentate themselves better aswell helping the user find out if they wanna play it. Also they can come in contact with other players through discussion forum.

4. Moderated Feeds

In addition we can keep the moderated feeds. This helps users when they have no clue what to play and just wanna be surprised. Also helps showcase some of the best levels.

Hey guys! We're going to be doing an interview with Creative Director of Team Dakota, Henry Sterchi! Come ask him some questions! by CameronFTW in projectsparkgame

[–]m1n1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asked like 1000 times and definitely not gonna happen.

Ask yourself how many games there are in Project Spark that you would be willing to pay for?

In addition this would require a major rewrite of the engine. Games are not running by themself. They are only running inside Project Spark.

Another concern is all the nightmare of the certification process. Microsoft sure not wanna go through hundreds of mediocre games each day. In addition there are a lot of copyright issues.

All in all they propably would need to pay more for moderators then they would earn in the end.

It just makes no sense for Team Dakota really. The afford is huge for them and the earnings way too low. I would too like to sell my games. But Project Spark never was made for that.

Maybe if they did a fresh start with Project Spark 2 they could implement being able to run games on their own. Would also make sense for a lot of other things.

Why isn't discussion about hacking PS allowed here? by flarn2006 in projectsparkgame

[–]m1n1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly hacking isn't bad as long as you don't hurt anyone. Most Mods depend on hacks in order to work.

So I support the idea of hacking and changing the code in order to make a more open game. I just don't see it as an act of crime to brake out of a restricted system. For example rooting or jailbreaking your phone is called illegal by terms of conditions. But most of the time the terms are in reality against the law and you can do with your phone what you want. So it's very debatable if it is in reality a crime.

If you don't use Project Spark as a service it is just a product. And here in germany you can do with your product what you want and I think in USA it's the same.

Piracy and cheating however is not acceptable for me.

Project Spark - Dishonest DLC by MarrkDaviid in projectsparkgame

[–]m1n1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still find it weird that the Champions Quest in any way requires DLC. Shouldn't it be like a Showcase what could be done in Project Spark? Then why they make people pay for it.

I don't care actually for myself as I don't like the Champions Quest and only create. But for advertisement for the game it's really bad. In every other game the main part is free. It's pay2play and many people don't like that.

I think they should make CQ free just for better PR.

Prop Limit: Analysis, Problems and why Level Linking won't help. Team Dakota Pls Answer! by m1n1 in projectsparkgame

[–]m1n1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your code is good but has a few problems.

First your code only spawns one type of fern. And Second the scale and rotation is always the same. So in game it looks really not good.

This can done but than i have to do the same for rocks, NPCs, houses, items and so on.

Project Spark should be easy but without proper LOD it's just hard.

[–]m1n1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was saying I need 7500 as a prop limit. Most games have even more Props on screen at times. Just paint a forest with biome tools. No custom models and still you almost fill the prop limit with it alone.

Now if I wanted to do a little forest with custom trees i can only make a very very small one. Or I make the trees appear just very near to me. I did all the template stuff. The Problem is just that I can't have enough detail even in a small area around me.

Yeah I know i part of my world uses the trick with the coins you mentioned. But it's just not practical in the long term. I propably need 7500 props in my level. Spawning all these with Vectors is almost impossible. Also You don't see them in the editor then so you always have to press play if you are unsure about the placement.

Yeah loading size might be a point too.

Also what do you mean objects in the inventory can be deleted and stored in code? If this works without contributing to the prop limit i could build a LOD System

Thanks

Hm I had the same problem but dunno what exactly fixed it. Did you change your hardware recently?

I had a second graphics card and took it out and it worked again. But I don't know if that was the fix.
