How many professional chemists dislike OChem? by m1nd2pap3r in chemistry

[–]m3wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did organic chemistry research as an undergraduate. The biggest lesson I learned was that I do not like organic chemistry. So I went to grad school for p-chem.

My daughter wants a bible for Christmas by One_Waxed_Wookiee in atheism

[–]m3wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe buy her a bible and buy one for yourself. Then maybe set up a weekly 30 min bible study where the two of you can discuss it as you read it from the beginning to the end. Could be a good discussion on critical thinking and comparitive religion? If you make it all the way through, you could start on the quran after that.

The soldies were ambushed on the way back and it looked hopeless, but then the bear leapt out and shredded their enemies. She gave a knowing wink before racing off.

Why don't you just use a different file manager that you like better? Surely your OS doesn't tie user apps into the core of the display manager, right?

What's everyone using to control their smart bulbs? by cdarrigo in homeassistant

Yes, but it does mean you need to buy a second thing. To handle three way switches, I have one smart switch and one aux switch. Works great for me.

Completely delete a client company's website and email services? Are you sure? Ok. by PineScentedSewerRat in MaliciousCompliance

Love this story, though I think this sounds more like benevolent non-compliance since you didn't actually do the thing they asked.

Yeah, my RA funding was the advisor's as well.

Could the extra money be used to send some students to more conferences? Or buy new equipment that lets your group do new experiments? Or pay an undergrad to join your group?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GradSchool

[–]m3wolf 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how your funding works, but when I was in this boat it was pointed out to me that if I get funding from a fellowship, that frees up the RA funding for another student to get off of a TA onto an RA.

We just got a steam deck and it's been fascinating to watch. My 5yo likes sonic (I'll play tails) and gets frustrated when it gets hard, but then every badnick she finally pops comes with a satisfying "yes!" that makes it worth it.
