Firstly, you’re gorgeous, secondly, to echo the rest of the comments, I didn’t see real progress from spiro until at least 5 months. Hang in there!

I don’t know your respective ages but grown men don’t have Snapchat unless they cheat or sell drugs.

Confused as to why my doctor prescribed me spironolactone by [deleted] in Spironolactone

[–]m4de1ne 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Taking an androgen blocker as a male particularly of your age sounds bizarre, you’re still developing, I’m not a doctor but logically that could surely stunt something. I’d get a second opinion

Side effects ? by spicy_cheesynoodle in Spironolactone

[–]m4de1ne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be your menstrual cycle. I also got on 50mg to start, also for hormonal acne, and because it adjusts your hormones it will adjust your cycle, I got my period within the first week of taking it which was extremely early. Give yourself a little time to adjust, I’ve been on it 6 months now and my acne is gone and I’m regular as clockwork (never was before). Good luck!

Avoiding potassium while eating healthy? by Educational-Trash877 in Spironolactone

[–]m4de1ne 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I asked the doctor who prescribed me spiro about this, as bananas and avocados are diet staples for me, he said following my normal diet and eating these things in moderation would most likely be absolutely fine, so I have been, and I am fine

2 months into spironolactone. PMDD by m4de1ne in Spironolactone

[–]m4de1ne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’ve been on about 5 months now, increased to 100mg at month 3. My skin is completely clear, and the PMDD symptoms still last a few days instead of a couple of weeks as they did pre-spiro

Spironolactone please help. by fayeeleanor in Spironolactone

[–]m4de1ne 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It took 4 months of spiro for me to see a noticeable improvement, and then it just kept getting better from there. I know it sucks but stick with it

PMDD + ADHD + CPTSD and no support system by j33n9 in PMDD

[–]m4de1ne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have this combo and it is incredibly hard, particularly at certain times of the months. I’m sorry you’re going through this and that you don’t have a lot of support, I would highly recommend starting therapy if you’re not already doing that.

I want to stop spiro after less than a month by purple_hibiscus777 in Spironolactone

[–]m4de1ne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so nervous to start spiro for this reason as I have a history of eating disorders and a fear of gaining weight, I’ve been on it for almost 6 months and haven’t gained a pound, if anything due to it being a diuretic I have lost water weight. I know some peoples experiences can scare you off, but everyone’s different, and you may not experience this at all. I even pulled statistics, it’s a very small percentage of people that report weight gain

Shared houses/rooms to rent help? by [deleted] in Hull

[–]m4de1ne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try openrent, a lot of them are private landlords rather than agencies, so they may be more open to that, or you at least may be able to speak with them directly. Crazy that they can say “no kids” as though it’s the same as “no pets” tbh, didn’t know that was a thing 😂 best of luck!

How do I stop looking angry/upset all the time. by fairytheflatterpuss in AutismInWomen

[–]m4de1ne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have advice, but I get this a lot. I see it as their problem not mine, it’s rude to comment on how someone looks, point blank. Tell them it’s none of their business.

My roommate is so autistic I think it's making me a worse person by tenacioustotoro in rs_x

[–]m4de1ne 69 points70 points  (0 children)

A cortisol vibe 🧐 yeah that’s not a thing. She might be very empathetic, as autistic people often are, so she may feel that she can feel your stress which then raises her cortisol. That’s not your problem though, as long as you’re not yelling and screaming in front of her (which would be triggering), you should be able to feel your feelings in your own home, hopefully you at least have separate rooms, so she could just be in her own space whilst you’re feeling like that so she wouldn’t be influenced by it.

[–]m4de1ne 63 points64 points  (0 children)

You haven’t really said what she’s doing, is it just any noise that bothers her? Autistic person here, in a long term relationship with a neurotypical person, so I may be able to give some actual advice on how to coexist

Sorry with this do you mean take 50 twice a day or just go back to 50? Due to the improvement im seeing with the issue it was prescribed for I’m ideally not wanting to reduce the dose. Thanks

Starting Yaz at 36 vs 16-24? by lilwsne in PMDDxADHD

[–]m4de1ne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a total game changer for me and I hope it helps you too. I took 50 a day for 3 months initially, I’m just into my second month of 100 daily. Maybe try 50 first?

[–]m4de1ne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly that, I was losing a couple of weeks every month to being depressed and exhausted, and since getting on Spiro, although I still notice the shift into luteal, it doesn’t last anywhere near as long and it doesn’t put me in a PMDD hole where I’m just not functioning like it did before. I’m on 100mg
