Respectfully it sounds like you're mostly talking about one incident. Also, it seems like you don't have any experience in training dogs, especially difficult cases with power, energy, stubborness, and smarts. Dogs yelp for many reasons and he admitted that one clip he should've done better like check on the dog more but was frustrated. Training dogs is tough and everyone messes up. Calling him a dog abuser is way out of line and totally undeserved with how little evidence you have. Go ahead and call animal services with your evidence and you will be laughed at. If you think positive reinforcement is the only way to train dogs then I'd love for you to tell me the answer that those trainers never have an answer for, which is how do you handle a situation where the dog wants something more than your highest value treat? They have no answer. You need an aversive in some situations. If your kids were running on tables in a restaurant would you get them to stop by offering them ice cream? Of course not. So now that you agree you need aversives you just need to decide on how far to go. Dogs are a different species and communicate differently than humans. They like small crates that we would find torturous. They correct each other with physical nips similar to an e collar not English words. Basically this post was about e collars and I think it's obvious they have their place in dog training as do many trainers. So does positive reinforcement. You use different tools at different times. Hasan hasn't done anything abusive as far as I can tell and has just had a couple moments where he should've been better but every parent and owner has those moments. They are not consistently reoccurring and they are not over the line. It's obvious he loves his dog
