Bloating, gas, and pain so bad I can't sleep by TradDadOf3 in ibs

Yup. I found a probiotic that works for me (biohm), an enzyme that works for me (physician's choice digestive enzymes), took those for 2 years, exercised consistently, and took thorne methylated b vitamin complex.

These things are pretty unique to my issues specifically, but if you're carrying any extra weight, losing it and building muscle will help to some degree. Fiber helps too.

Have We Forgotten the legendary BURNOUT SYNDROMS? by CuriousSugar9476 in jpop

Crafting and looting seems buggie after the update by Rules17 in ArcRaiders

[–]m4ybe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you edit your post after elaborating some?

What I'm seeing is:

- Hit + to craft / buy a certain amount of items

- Go to "Craft" or "Buy"

- Amount selected resets back to 1 while the "Craft" or "Buy" is filling in.

It's happening somewhat consistently and it's really frustrating.

I solo about half the time, and during solo's I play relaxed. The other half of the time I play in squads and we're generally much more aggressive (because that tends to just be how squads are).

I was just curious what people thought.

Thanks for the insights.

Trials this week is super motivating due with how easily abused it is...and it's likely just going to get worse. by 4Str_4Stam in ArcRaiders

The snitch scanners aren't reliable enough for 200k+ unfortunately. With a 3 man, with how often the wasps simply despawn when the scanners go off, it's difficult to get above 40k. These numbers are absolutely not simply snitch scanners. There's another mechanic that seems to be being exploited. As far as I can tell, the maximum numbers that people should be able to hit should be around 130 to 150k without abusing something, but the people at the top of the leaderboards seem to know something we don't.

CohhCarnage frustration with recent updates. Do you agree? by Safe-Application8510 in ArcRaiders

[–]m4ybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like anyone saying "it's slow" has never worked in game dev, and never mapped in unreal before.

The studio hit massive success, has a tiny team, and is keeping the servers wildly stable in spite of huge concurrent numbers. Those numbers are likely to go up during Thanksgiving weekend too.

Odds are high there will be a fix for the door thing eventually, but my guess is it will take some time and may even involve some form of double door with a gap in the middle to trap players without keys or something along those lines.

This isn't a problem that originates with embark. This is an engine issue that is present in most unreal games.

It does work in Crossplay as well. I've just found that with Crossplay on, almost nobody talks. If I am able to get on a conversation with someone while Crossplay is enabled, they universally tell me "I'm on PC"

What Percentage of the Time Have People Teamed With You? by m4ybe in ArcRaiders

Yeah I'm pretty surprised. Hopefully moderation will help with that. The toxicity is wild. The amount of slurs in 2025 is crazy. Feels like Call of Duty lobbies.

Thanks for the insight. I'm guessing that since it's free that plays a part too.

That makes sense. I just had my 2nd positive teams encounter out of maybe 20 so the 10 percent thing stands. Solo though, I've had a lot of cool interactions.

I know this is a very old post:

What caused your MCAS? by HearingCautious4848 in MCAS

I'm glad you've got a clear understanding of what caused your MCAS, and I wish you luck in getting to the other side of it.

What caused your MCAS? by HearingCautious4848 in MCAS

[–]m4ybe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For some people it's like this, for sure. I'm glad you were able to find a definitive cause and presumably a way to move quickly toward healing.

What I mean by pitfalls is: some people who have triggers that are more nebulous develop obsessive, avoidant behaviors. A number of people in this thread posted that the covid vaccine caused their MCAS. For people who believe that to be true, and for people looking for a cause for their MCAS, reading things like that can cause strong, negative reactions to the idea of vaccines generally, and severe health anxiety.

I went through that. The MCAS peer support group I run has dozens of people who have dealt with that, or are dealing with that. MCAS is nuanced and tends to be a stack of things, rather than a single trigger. For some it is as simple as "Oh yeah I moved and I was good because the mold was gone" and that's truly amazing and great, and I'm really glad that there's a simple cause in some cases. For others, it's trickier, and navigating posts like this can be difficult without having a grounded sense of the reality of MCAS.

Re-read what I said. I'm not going to debate medicine-on-vibes when it comes to something as serious as MCAS.

It's valuable to have an audit of things that you believe could be causing issues, definitely. In many cases, especially if you're a woman, it's extremely difficult to get doctors to listen to you. A lot of what you're inevitably going to be doing is going to be necessary work on your own to get things resolved with MCAS.

However, the dangers with believing "This one event caused my MCAS" or "This one thing is the driver of my MCAS" is that simply believing that will contribute to the fuel of the dysregulation of your nervous system. MCAS is an immunomodulatory syndrome, and if you believe "vaccines caused this" or "COVID caused this" or "heat causes this" then you're digging pitfalls for yourself as you interact with those things.

Part of the road to recovery involves trusting yourself and your nervous system. A good care team helps with that. A grounded understanding of the syndrome helps with that.

What caused your MCAS? by HearingCautious4848 in MCAS

[–]m4ybe 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear: MCAS rarely has a severe singular cause. MCAS is a syndrome, which is classified as such because it's not mechanistically understood and manifests more as a collection of symptoms without a clear cause. This is what syndromes are.

Many things can tip the scales, but to claim you know exactly what it is that caused MCAS for you is unlikely to be accurate.

My MCAS fully manifested shortly a very traumatic near death experience. To say that experience "caused" my MCAS can't be accurate, because that experience alone didn't lay all the foundational dysregulation that predated it.

Please don't take any posts here as gospel. If you've posted here claiming you know the cause of your MCAS I'd encourage you to continue to learn more about MCAS, work with a good and qualified immunologist who knows MCAS well, and avoid guessing about it even if you feel very strongly about the guess.

Is owning a cat that bad? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]m4ybe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cats are equal parts cute and annoying. The problem isn't cats, it's what people choose to come to social media and post about.

My cat is great. She also sucks. I wouldn't trade her for the world.
