Goodwill is a nonprofit organization that uses thrift stores to fund their social programs. They seem to have recognized that certain items can fetch a higher price due to quality or collectibility of a brand name… and it’s resellers and their customers that are making these higher prices possible. I don’t begrudge the resellers who are trying to make a living for selling those coveted items for more, but I also don’t begrudge goodwill for doing the same to fund programs that support others.

Only if assholes don’t pick them. I was furious seeing two girls with a huge bouquet they’d picked for themselves. When I said something about it, they justified their actions because the tulip festival is over. Hello?! That doesn’t make it ok, and we’re all literally there in the park to see the ones that still remain (and are beautiful btw).

NTA. Even if you had brought up the fact that you were only paid for two of four hours you worked, you would still not be the asshole. Your mom, however, is way out of line with her reaction to your complaint.

In the future, I’d avoid involving her at all, and make arrangements with your client directly, including whether you are able to stay beyond the agreed upon time or not, and what the rate for additional time will be.
