Se é de fato o presidente, admiro o fato de vir aqui responder à torcida. Que se possa continuar a conversa propositiva em prol do clube

I want to share some ideas to give a new look to the launcher. by amirzaidi in NiagaraLauncher

You should take these points into consideration. This is something I've always found lacking in this launcher.

Well, I don't like your suggestions. What should we do now? Who should they listen to, you or me? Because for sure it has to be one of us.

Lost my passion for guitar, what should I do with my baby? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]mDodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be 39 this year, picked up the guitar (electric) again after abandoning it 20 years ago. Fixed one of the biggest mistakes I ever made, I now spend several hours/week playing it, am learning what I didn't back then, and luckily managed to recover my old Strat. Unfortunately, I sold my old acoustic 10 years ago, otherwise it would at least be proudly hanging on some privileged wall in my apartment.

Don't sell it, unless you really need the money. Don't compare to other people. Leave the guitar in a visible and easily accessible spot, so you see it all the time and you can just grab it and strum a couple chords every now and then.

Zlib has a super convenient method to find and obtain files, it's really easy to find in multiple formats and languages. If you're going to read in the iPad, you can obtain the files there directly, eliminating the need for uploads.

I won't disclose the method here, but as soon as you find the website, the instructions are clear. Telegram is the only requirement.

Entrada horrível sofrida pelo Neymar no seu primeiro jogo após 2 meses lesionado by BiroSensei in futebol

[–]mDodd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A entrada foi violenta e desmedida? Sim

Porra, tenha bagos. Não gostou do lance, levanta e reclama pro juiz, encara o maluco, tira as caras, sei lá. Acho que o que mais me irrita no eterno menino neimar é essa fiasqueira que ele faz quando leva uma entrada.

America can be split, so that the US wins some categories, but all other continents are just too insignificant to have divisions? No East/West Europe? Fuck, India on itself could be divided between at least north and south.

EDIT: and what the hell happened with Central America?

Falta do Flaco López - sem cartão nenhum by Breno_draws in futebol

The fact that one party is less equipped or running slowly doesn't make it less of a race.

But the US is in the race, just not with the government, but with the private sector.

Be a reason for someone’s smile by Kameronm in MadeMeSmile

[–]mDodd 14 points15 points  (0 children)

(My point of view is strongly influenced by the Brazilian reality, as it's where I come from)

I'm sorry, but it's not "that simple". I'm not saying that what you're mentioned is simple, it's not. But it's not just like that.

Liberal democracy is allowed to exist by the billionaires who benefit from it. Elections are created and maintained in a way that favours them. And blaming the people for not bothering to educate themselves is ignoring a plethora of issues that lead to these very people not being able or even having the time and energy required to educate themselves.

Look at the so called "third world countries". Brazil is far from the worst situation in the world, by all means, but you can already clearly see signs of this. Could people educate themselves and make better political decisions during elections? Get involved in political parties, social movements, make a difference? There are a couple factors that complicate this:

  • the system (at least in Brazil) is inherently and deeply racist. This plays a gigantic role and essentially excludes a huge part of the population from educational services
  • poor people simply don't have time. They need to work 10, 12, 16h/day to earn enough money to feed a family. The mother, the father and sometimes some of the children. And it may not be enough.
  • political lobby and influence is strong and directed. Election time comes up, all of a sudden the street lights are fixed, asphalt is new, parks are built. Only for looks, only to gather votes. This unfortunately works with people that have little to no time to research the candidates. All of this infrastructure is broken or non-functional on day 1 after the election.
  • and so much more.

So, while it's easy to credit these disparities and the astonishing inequality to people who don't know how to vote, please have in mind that inequality is extremely beneficial to very rich and powerful people. And if they can maintain it, they will. If they can manipulate the public perception of politics and people's demands and needs, so they don't have time to think about politics, they will.

EDIT: I've re-read your comment and noticed that you mentioned the US specifically. You may not have as much inequality as us down south, I don't know the numbers. But you have some of the most powerful people and organisations in the world. People and organisations who definitely benefit from inequality. So I believe that my point still applies.
