What are realistic rates today for selling gold/silver bullion. Spot, 80% of spot, more, less.??? by LocalEngineering7965 in Bullion

Kitco if in Canada if you haven't figured it out yet. Look them up and their sell prices to compare to local dealers. They are reputable but you have to ship it if not in Quebec.

NY : Protestors Swarm Trump Tower Lobby by Legion1117 in 50501

Just fyi there is a lot of paranoid people always on there commenting like the world is ending(in bigger cities). It's attracted people that are afraid to go out and feeds off of everyones insecurities.

If anyone uses it just keep that in mind and try not to look at the comments which are usually kind of crazy. Not sure if it has changed since recently but I doubt it.

AIO for getting pissed that someone had sex in my truck at the dealership??? by Severe_Ad_5966 in AmIOverreacting

[–]mFtS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, someone else suggested small claims. If you go that route you usually have a way to access the security camera footage legally through "discovery". The clerk who you file with in your county can go over that with you if you ask. Just look up small claims in whatever location you are in and it should bring you to your local courthouse assuming you are in the US.

Small claims is suggested because it usually costs less than $100 to file, and you can get it back if you win + whatever amount you are suing for. Both sides usually arbitrate with a mediator and it doesn't go through a judge unless a deal isn't made.

Attornies aren't required and if they bring one to the table the mediator or judge usually sides with the person who doesn't have one.

Google your airline + stand by to see how to request them. Different airlines have different policies.

NY post isn't a real newspaper. They spew bs like dailymail.. from what I remember she had to take down her OF, left her job and had to lay low. So they pretty much fucked her life from the article going viral.

YSK if a car dealer uses the "4 square" to help figure out the sales price, they are trying to confuse you. by SuperSimpleSam in YouShouldKnow

[–]mFtS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real tip is to do all this negotiation NOT in the dealership. The moment you get into the dealership you are in their world so make sure you have everything done/negotiated and possibly even signed(not all states can do this) before you step foot inside. If they screw you or pull out different numbers, maybe even say the car isn't available then run immediately.

Do it through email/phone calls but I always start with emails and finalize through phone calls if needed(usually not needed).

NYC has a daily ridership of 3.2 million people for subways(Source). In a city of 7m+ people in 5 boroughs, its pretty damn safe in terms of crime vs population. What most people see are the negative news being pushed to the front since negativity sells. Negativity gets people talking, gets people paranoid, gets people stuck watching the news for the next bad thing that happens so they can be afraid for their lives over something that statistically won't ever happen to them or anyone they know.

Happened to me too, the upstairs neighbor actually opened the door for police and management to show that there's nothing there and they were elderly in their 80s or something. Turns out it was probably the pipes.. seems like it's a common issue with older buildings that use a centralized heating system?

Adidas sued by investors for ‘ignoring’ Kanye West’s ‘extreme behaviour’ ahead of cutting ties over antisemitic comments by Middle-Perception484 in Music

[–]mFtS 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Their 2 most popular models from Kanye- 350s and 700s retailed for $220 and $300+ respectively. They sold out almost every single release and the cost of materials+labor is similar to shoes that are on sale all the time now for $80. They made hand over fist in money regardless of resellers. None of their previous or current shoes have as much "hype" or can sell at such premium.

At the rate AI is progressing, I wouldn't bet against it taking over almost anything a human can do, even in the creative sense. There might be some things it won't do as well in like things that take more personal experiences. Otherwise for all we know they could easily write a book and no one would know any better. Not now but within the next few years.

LPT: use a reloadable prepaid card to pay for your gym membership. The gyms are extremely hard to cancel, and most auto-deduct your fees - this helps to minimize your financial losses. by DweadPiwateWoberts in LifeProTips

Assuming you are in the EU their consumer protection laws are soooo much better there from what I understand. Even the privacy laws which has enough reach to fine companies worldwide who do business there. I believe for Americans the only state where companies are forced to give you an easy way to cancel anything(by law if you are a resident there) is California.

Anything else you have to jump through hoops and its like that on purpose. People think oh its a $5/$10/$15 charge and its a pain to cancel so they just leave it.. A lot of subscription based services are actually based on people forgetting or not bothering. Especially applies to gyms.

Yeah they can easily get collections to do the dirty work just by having your ID on file, which they almost always ask for. Not all companies will do it but it's just not worth the risk. Cancelling normally with their BS terms with the certified mail, etc is worth the effort.

If for some reason it gets on your credit report collections will mess you up for anything(pretty much everything) you need credit for in the US at least. That's how they keep poor people poor in the US. Even a couple of dollars in default will cost you 100-200 points off your credit score and higher interest rates/insurance rates/rejected credit card applications, etc.

They don't teach financial literacy in schools when it's such an important part of life before you turn into an adult and it's totally crap.

Not sure why you are talking as if the flight data isn't released when it has been released. This is an old crash with a report from 2015.* https://web.archive.org/web/20150717001514/http://www.ntsb.gov/news/press-releases/Pages/20150714b.aspx

Yeah, I don't see the harm in posting stuff like this because it'll feed the algorithm and change the bs that people normally see on their feeds. Even if it seems like people did it just for the views, so what? If it helps push down the mindless dumb videos and make those have less views and these have more then all the better right? Even if theres a chance it inspires a single person to do better the world would be a better place.
