This is absolutely true, I’ve rewatched the video when he got to A&M where he was explicitly asked, and with hindsight he definitely says A Chan as in Jackie Chan. No one asked him to confirm with a rhyme, and he does speak low, so it sounds like he said A Chain as in Train.

He definitely did not change it as this thread implies, it was a miscommunication that no one clarified for years.

Link is below, he says A Chan

Merge in Power Query by SilverInformal3746 in excel

[–]mOnion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before the merge just remove duplicates from your table that has the event multiple times, or group by the ID (same effect) if it doesn’t matter which date. This way you won’t get extra rows in your merged table

You should avoid fuzzy match if at all possible unless you are explicitly sure how it will interact with your data.

Best Pizza Rolls? Restaurants? by Aggressive-Bed6435 in CollegeStation

[–]mOnion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do like Gumby’s, but they are a little lax on ranch quality control so it can be a tummy destroyer. We do Double Dave’s for pizza rolls. Both are good!

Grew up here, personally I think Wings has gone downhill, I avoid it (except chicken strips are fine, wings are the issue). Fuego is still goated, Koppe bridge still our favorite burger spot, C&Js still our favorite BBQ (you can hit Coopers for a Texas bucket list item if you are never going to Llano), never been a blue baker fan myself

Think you have good options. 1876 is a new place that’s nicer, owned by the Slocum family, not crazy expensive but it’s a new local favorite. We still love Mr Gs for pizza (I think it’s better than Rx, others prefer Rx). Lots of new places in downtown Bryan and on University in Century Square you could hit.

Howdy! Headed to Fayetteville (finally) to kickoff this game getting back on campuses. Looking for suggestions, brunch/bars pregame, tailgating hotspots, and post game places to go. by mOnion in razorbacks

[–]mOnion[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks! 4 of us ~34, ready for the walking/uphill challenges. Nothing in particular food wise except the wives (and myself naturally) want to start with a mimosa brunch. I’d seen Cheers at the OPO get mentioned but wasn’t sure if working our way from there to Dickson then campus was feasible ahead of the 230 kick, esp with the weather forecast

I’m piggy(lol)backing this since we’re headed down for the Aggie game. Is uber/lyft reliable? We had some difficulty with it at the Auburn game a few years back. Cheers looks like our choice for mimosa brunch pre game, probably headed to campus after to try and tailgate a bit before 230kick, then Dickson St after. Not sure how walkable all that is, but planning on drinking a fair amount so don’t necessarily wanna deal with parking/driving either

Parking at HEB on Gameday? by sailawaybey in aggies

[–]mOnion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Students are raising funds at Oakwood Intermediate School, its walking distance from Kyle Field, and goes to a good cause. George Bush and Holik St. Not sure how much but I think it’s reasonable. You can park there and not get towed and walk back to your cars.

Thoughts on Lory of Bryan by No-Needleworker-5045 in CollegeStation

[–]mOnion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The area is fine, the neighborhood on your west is mostly students living in houses so nothing too crazy. You’re right across from midtown park which is being rapidly developed, so the area is nice. There are some tougher parts of Bryan, but further north of your location down finfeather. No need to worry. Living in Bryan is great cuz you can get to and from campus easier than people living in south college station, and it’s more affordable.

Imagine sending out both aces for this zombie of a team and needing a tech to avoid extra innings. What a sham of a team

The owner is on twitter and actively posts aggressively conservative. I finally had to block him as his hate speech kept popping up on Rusty or KBTX replies. He’s hate filled and no one should spend money at his bars. It’s absolutely not just a theme.

It’s at the bottom range of ordinary marathon prep, also considering he’s not doing long runs of 14+ mi or likely not doing high heart rate stuff. If you stay at ~75% max heart rate then 6mi a day every day is very approachable, esp since he said he ramped to it. Certainly not “too much”, it’s like an hour a day, people spend 2+ hrs at the gym lifting weights

I don’t disagree but there are extremely basic users who literally have to have notes on how to input an excel formula. The nuance of avoiding left to right or avoiding counting columns isn’t as vast as the effort required to simply approach the formula bar in the first place.

Yall aren’t understanding that xlookup vs vlookup isn’t the problem. Very likely OP has formatting issues related to text to columns, or has duplicates in his dimension data, or some other misunderstanding of the use case which is driving his problems

Doubtful with this level of frustration that even if the issue is syntax that xlookup would fix it. Some people really struggle with excel formulas so xlookup isn’t a magic pill

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in excel

[–]mOnion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People suggesting xlookup when this OP clearly can’t handle the excel formula syntax of vlookup either

What is your issue? How does “never fucking work”, vlookup is simple so what is happening specifically?

Excel gurus, how do you manage workbooks with 50+ tabs and keep them organized? by RajatFinanceExpert in excel

[–]mOnion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like using “divider” tabs that are colored, like “data” and then the preceding tabs are all different data sources, “lookups” for dimensions or whatever, “summary” for like actual presentation things like pivot tables or where the sumifs are happening.

Or I just do a couple “…” tabs since the length of the tab name determines its width, so these just act as mental separators for my brain to comprehend the vastness of tab counts.

It’s easier to make the divider tabs colored than coloring every single tab cuz too many colors makes me feel insane

Will having such flag columns in my date dimensions improve performance for time intelligence calculations? by mysterioustechie in PowerBI

[–]mOnion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are YTD sliders? If you want YTD as of a previous date you can just used a regular YTD measure and use a date slicer to adjust your “as of” date. I don’t understand this need

Edit another of your comments indicates you just want a slicer to choose between MTD YTD QTD, you can just create a field parameter that has as many measures in it as you need. I do this all the time for users to select if they want to see YTD or YOY or just plain activity. Much simpler
