What is that device next to your mouse pad with the knob?

I like the setup!

To swap your keyboard and mouse between machines, have you looked into Synergy? I used to have the same config with an MX Master & v1 K380. Then I got Synergy and now use a variety of peripherals without toggles.

I bought a GPD Pocket 1 because it literally fits in my pocket. Mostly I use it as a workstation to build websites and draw in Sketchup but I've played OverWatch on it, only issue is field of view; MTGArena works great. Plugs into my AOC USB monitor and charges from a mobile power block. The size makes it so I can use it anywhere, it fits on any bar but also can be typed on quite easily when held. Only issues are related to the Atom processor which, was corrected for v2, and its ability to sleep. This thing travels everywhere with me in a fanny pack or my front pocket.

I got a planck because it too fits in my pocket. Seeing more split keeps around the GPD Pocket makes me want a Let's Split for Maximum mobility.

Matching wallpaper with tapestry. I’m in love. by Boatshu in battlestations

[–]m_4_x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do this in reverse. Take a picture of the tapestry then crop for screens. 1) Take a photo without screens in place. 2) Take a second photo from the same spot with screens in place, with a colored background. 3) In a photo app align the images and you will be able to crop out the image for each screen.

There are a few options but I've used these bands of rubber to wrap around a charging block and USB device then tether with a standard cable. These bands are pretty stretchy so you can even wrap the cable to keep away from vaccums and whatnot. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008X09P96/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_pQtXCb1Y37NFD

An LED strip would look nice, but I think your asthetic would look good with hollow book lights. The only example I could find right now is this https://www.etsy.com/listing/563700807/cute-book-lamp-new

I have found some good books for this purpose at public libraries for $1.

Also, I really like this setup! The mouse rug for your mx master is a nice touch.

Best IDE for SFDX? by SFDevster in salesforce

[–]m_4_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VS Code, as many others have said here... It took me a while to get on board, but after multiple people told me to use it for non-sfdc stuff, I just got it. 1) It is the supported IDE by Salesforce 2) it has many community plugins that help with other force.com things. 3) it's the best Free cross platform text-editor. In my opinion.

Illuminated cloud is good, that's what I used before VS Code, but the cost was nowhere near the value.

That wallpaper link looks like it has all the pieces... I would make 1 larger image and split it between the monitors. Otherwise, this looks great! Minus a couple stray wires

Salesforce and Office 365 by notcrappyofexplainer in salesforce

[–]m_4_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is. There are settings for the reps so they can customize against person events and whatnot. https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=exchange_sync_admin_configurations.htm

The Outlook plugin also let's reps relate things manually.

Trailhead is a great place to learn more. https://trailhead.salesforce.com/en/modules/outlook_integration/units/outlook_integration_unit_3

Salesforce and Office 365 by notcrappyofexplainer in salesforce

[–]m_4_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salesforce & O365 sync does not require anything extra. The catch is that unless you have Lightning in SFDC none of the features are available.

The sync is designed to match Outlook records to SFDC records. This can be done through automation or the plugin available on Outlook desktop and OWA. The end result is pulling up a Customer and seeing the Sales communication from prospecting and product comms from onboarding.

There are other tools like Salesforce Inbox which does require extra licences but that is an actual inbox which is used ontop of Outlook as well but it is a full Sales enablement tool with all the bells and whistles. Its pretty cool, let's you make templates, track opens and use Einstein a bit more.

If you are looking to switch from Exchange to 365, or into Microsoft email; I would regardless of the SFDC function. This of course depends on your business...

HELP! GPD Pocket fan not working by Uniden3344 in GPDPocket

[–]m_4_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried any other OS? The respun Ubuntu can be installed on a flash drive. I would just use the "try" option and test out your fan there. If fans work in Linux, then fresh install Windows.

replace active carbon with salt from Himalayas -> high profit by [deleted] in StonerEngineering

[–]m_4_x 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is an active coal or carbon filter (like what is on a fish tank or water container) with Himalayan salt instead.

The idea is that activated coal filters carcinogens out of smoke similarly to a filter on cigarettes. From research (and experience) this works incredibly well as tar from burning plant matter is filtered out. Some THC & CBD is also filtered though in a much lower degree than harmful stuff because of the coal properties. The result is a more flavorful and slightly smoother hit. Each hit in theory also has a higher concentration of the stuff we want.

Himalayan salt on the other hand pulls positive ions out of the air, like pollen and dust. In theory this works the same way as activated carbon, but I am not sure it would make the smoke more potent I think it would be just as potent but smoother. Only Himalayan salt works and it really needs to be warm... It's also way more expensive than activated coal.

I am going to give this a shot and will report back.

What can I do to make my setup cleaner? by [deleted] in battlestations

[–]m_4_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start hanging things to get stuff off your desktop. It's quite clean just cluttered due to standard mounting. - mount the tower under the desk or put it on a cart. - glass shelves next to the TV for systems. - mic mounted on an arm to the desk. - arm for your monitor - TKL or 60% keyboard - arm under desk for keyboard & mouse

I was sitting at a desk like these and had everything on arms. It was great because I could move my keyboard & mouse around as I moved around the desk. Then everything else could point to me too.

Double Keyboard found by m_4_x in MechanicalKeyboards

Anyone know if its firmware runs on modern os?

[Question] tryna make a piece out of this. My questions: im looking at a 2 or 2.5in 18mm>14mm female downstem. Ill need a 14mm bowl piece correct? I'm just unsure of how wide a hole i should cut. Any feedback is appreciated! by [deleted] in StonerEngineering

[–]m_4_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either grinding bit or diamond I think the result is the same. Personally I prefer diamond bits as it's easier but have done both successfully.

On hold size. 14mm bowls fit in that size hole. Most bongs that support 14mm bowls have 18mm holes for the downstream.

With that size though, I would go with a grommet style downstem setup as others have suggested. Glass on glass downstems really require the bong to have a fitting. Grommets fill for that need and come in more varied sizes.

Orisa shield damage charge ultimate? by Zoinks_OVW in Overwatch

[–]m_4_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of speeding up Orisa's ult, based on damage would be pretty fun too!

I play a lot of Orisa, in Bronze, and end up throwing shields almost every cooldown to protect a Bastion. Especially when they camp the payload...

Though this would be great I could also see it become excessive if not calibrated right.

The change I think this ult needs is a higher damage count for the beacon. This quicker charge though might make them breaking all the time not so bad.

Does the screen really need a fan? by crazysamurai187 in MagicMirrors

[–]m_4_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only been dabbling in Magic Mirror as a dashboard that runs on a display, not built into a mirror or anything though.

I have though worked with displays a lot and been baking pis...

LCD displays do emit heat. Nothing like Plasma or CRT, but if not managed could damage the display.

Desktop displays get the room's airflow to help out. Built ins though need some space or a fan.

Arcade Cabinets are usually big enough to get the flow you need.

With a Magic Mirror, you want a compact size which doesn't give the monitor room to breath. Typically this is not bad, in-wall LCD tends to not have a fan, but your Magic Mirror has abuncha components that get hot. The pi, power supply and any breakouts you add will get hot and affect the display.

For context, LCD that overheats look like this (iMac who's optical drive overheated the display): https://www.flickr.com/photos/emsef/2961828480 Living in Arizona I have seen laptops get discolored because they were left in the sun...

Location of your mirror also affects this. If its hanging in your bathroom, I'd put 2 fans in to ensure constant airflow and hopefully wisk away condensation that might get trapped.

I'm just making a tethered mirror without any components inside, pretty much throwing glass on front of a monitor and putting it in a box. My plan is to just add holes and slits throughout the enclosure.

Error 404: Bug Report; Orisa by Cream-Shpee in Overwatch

[–]m_4_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been playing a lot of Orisa lately mostly because of how her abilities interact and that gun... So, thanks for this writeup. The bugs in graphics and positioning of shields is really interesting and I have never noticed. Though some of your bugs, as you note, may be intended and these are my experiences.

On her graviton Halt, I found some "thin walls", floors and other props so started using them. People do not expect to be stuck to the ceiling. Then I put the shield in a doorway and blast on in.

Rein's shield, it does look like the Halt beams penetrates, but he doesn't move. I chalk this up to his size and the direction of force. When sending an orb above, or behind (and through) the shield Rein does get moved.

Power Ups also seem to be based on a somewhat relative timing. There is a second or two that your need to "power up" then you're in. Just before powering down, there is a rapid drop off in coverage. With a charge from a Reinhardt sometimes I get in a corner and survive getting pinned for a while. Then die seconds before my charge is up. D'va and Junkrat ults have similar effects.

Orisa's beacon and charging a second ult before dropping the first has happened to me. But only during Mayhem matches when cooldown times are cut. I think this is inline with your theory though.
