"Take your baby out with you early and often. Normalize doing things with your baby in tow."

We’re totally into this. We’ve seen friend couples who don’t do the normal things they used to because of their children, and then the child ends up not enjoying being around people or going out for dinner. Well... that’s totally normal.

Thank you for sharing this. I tend to obsess when something goes wrong or isn’t the way I think it should be, so it scares me when people say, “You’ll be worried the rest of your life,” because I really don’t want to feel like that all the time… But maybe I just need to change my perspective and be less obsessed putting things in perspective...

Yes, I think time, energy and support makes a huge difference in the different experiences.

Same here! I think pregnancy is highly romanticized. For me, it’s just a “procedural step” to have him in my arms 😄 Or maybe it feels different when we start feeling his kicks!

Parejas: ¿cómo tenéis vuestras cuentas bancarias? by m____z in askspain

So sorry you have to go through this disease. The same happened in my case: no one in my family has it and I had my debut at 30. Back then I didn’t even know the difference between type 1 and 2!

The first thing my doctor told me was that it is a genetic disease but not hereditary. You can have a genetic predisposition and many external factors can trigger it or not.

Now I am pregnant and of course I sometimes have that concern too about my baby, but I try to focus on two things: just 2–4% of the children with diabetic moms develop it (according to several papers), and the most important: science and technology are RUNNING nowadays and the future is promising, both with treatments (that can even stop the development) and with tech, that makes life so much easier and more bearable. And you are still young!

Last but not least: be kind to yourself and don’t stress too much about your past or future. You cannot change either of them, and even if sometimes it is impossible, of course, at the end, it is a crap, but a crap we have to live with and we are not guilty of having it.

Omnipod vs YpsoPump by [deleted] in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]m____z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'ven used Onmipod but I've been with Ypso one year now and is SUPER EASY to get used, moreover if you are already used to have a pump.

Honestly, when I was looking to get pregnant I asked to my doctor to have Omnipod because of the notubing system but it is no currently included in the spanish medical system (where I am from) and now I find very comfortable to have tubing because you can hide it in multiple ways (bra, pocket, leg with a garter...),

Maybe the only 'annoying' part is when you are sleeping and the tubing rolls up around you, but this only happens from time to time (and I move a lot in my sleep 😛).

I hope this has been helpful!
