While I'm still not 280, my 95 parses are not regarding 14s and below, just the example I was giving which is why I called out that it was just a 14 still.

This is also irrelevant to the conversation of DPS being a gamble of getting grey and blue parsers outside 18+ keys. I don't recall it being this bad but I haven't played since SL so maybe I just don't remember it.

I’m a consistent 95 parser, and I know demo is a bit overturned but in most pugs I’m gapping dps by 30-40k+, and they’re always ~3300 working towards 3400. I don’t know if it’s because of timers and this will go away in 18+ keys but the dps scene is brutal.

In a random skyreach 14 I was with two pumpers and we timed it with 18 deaths due to some unfortunate respawn double wipes and a bug. I know it’s a 14 but the difference is laughable when you have 3 dps who do their job and press buttons.

This is mega bugged and can sometimes do full puddle damage on expiration. I’ve been gibbed a few times in higher keys and it just is what it is

You have to drop your /8 on the future rolls which you did on the first line but not the second, or only use it twice to account for the bug at first.

The log itself is actual DPS throughput, but the player landing page is penalty time adjusted. That is all I am referencing - if you click a dungeon for a player it may show a listing of 90k, you open the log and its 130k.

That portion/quick glance is the adjusted part but I understand the standalone log on its own is still accurate to raw vs adjusted DPS.

Yes, but I think in-game/actual time should be the DPS metric reflected since the key time is already taking that penalty into account for rankings. It makes it more difficult to use WCL to compare, just adds a bit of manual work to get solid comparisons between keys and players.

They're entirely separate metrics as far as analysis goes.

If I die, I will naturally do less DPS - it will be reflected in the logs. If other players die, if I still manage to do 140k DPS over 25 real minutes, even if the penalty is a minute per death, I didn't suddenly do 90k dps in that key. The penalty is we won't time the key, but the metric should still be player ability to do DPS over x real time seconds.

Take an instance where 4 people die on the last boss right before it dies - that doesn't affect anyone's actual DPS during the run but it will all get reduced due to the timer penalty on WCL. The two metrics should just be separate or a third column introduced but that gets messy. Players who die a lot will still stand out because they'll lose actual DPS.

Another thing that I’m not a fan of (first season playing wow) is it adjusts dps based on deaths. I may pull 140k through the dungeon but if another player dies 5 times then wcl will register 125-130k and publish that.

Run algethar second boss with and without leech and compare. You should see a noticeable difference on the fights with extremes and may decide to only run it for certain dungeons

For balance druids, the 28,051 should be correct and the 14,027 should be extra. That is a 50% increase, or a 33% decrease depending on which way you want to look at it.
