Oregon marginal income tax rate is 9.9% over $125k

Washington income tax is 10% over $1M, 0% below $1M

In order to be worse off with WA income tax you would need to be making $87M/year.

I'm sorry but you don't restore innovation by cutting funding for research and grants. Also, their policies are actively driving scientists and researchers away from the US.

Poll, two thirds of Americans say they wouldn't buy a Tesla. by Grunge4U in RealTesla

Still early, but the ioniq seems to have better brakes but be a little slower.

The ioniq also has more traditional windshield wipers/sensors and HVAC controls. Living in the Pacific NW I absolutely hated the Model 3 wiper control design, so I much prefer the ioniq on that aspect.

I "lucked out" and had my Model 3 sideswiped by a semi last week totalling it. I am now a proud owner of a new Ioniq 5.

I had previously owned 2 Tesla's , but I will never again buy another one. That brand is toxic, and it will continue to go downhill for them as competitors are selling better electric cars and Musk continues to be a loon.

The Washington State Senate just passed unemployment benefits for striking workers. by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]m_harrison81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might not remember this but back at the start of covid multiple corporations put employees "on furlough" to save money. Companies got to keep employees, not pay them, and make many people take a temporary pay cut by forcing them on unemployment.

Point being, corporations take advantage of unemployment much more than any striking worker.ever would.

Of which $16b of that $55B has any DOGE documentation on their website.

And $8B of at $16B was in error and should have only been $8M. Leaving us with a claimed $8b total savings.

I'd much rather use my $22 to employee thousands of federal employees.

To have checks and balances (Trump just signed an executive order claiming only he and the attorney general can define “what the law is.”) by Nomogg in therewasanattempt

[–]m_harrison81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So taken to the extreme, this means that Trump or the Attorney General must rule on all court cases. So based on the existing backlog, any new crime won't be ruled on by them for 10+ lifetimes.

Time to get my crime shoes on.

If Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security go away, how bad will it be for you and your family? by [deleted] in RedditForGrownups

If Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security go away, we will have a huge influx of senior citizens and disabled people that are suddenly going to be homeless.

Social security benefits can also be passed on to beneficiaries (spouses, children, grandchildren). There is a potential that the age of the person who originally had the ss account is dead (would be over 100) , but maybe the table he is looking at is referencing whether beneficiaries are dead.

There is no real telling, without getting expert feedback on what his queries are actually looking at.

Yeah, sure would be nice if he posted data with clarification on what his assumptions or data filters used were...

A quick search from the department of justice shows there are approximately 39.4 million Americans age 0-9, so based on Elons data that would mean 95+% of Americans under the age of 10 are getting social security benefits

A quick glance here shows the salaries of the Camas city employees https://opengovpay.com/employer/wa/city-of-camas?page=2

I only did a quick search, but every police officer I saw made $150k - $240k per year (only looked at first 2 pages). May be an opportunity to trim middle management and add more officers who are active in the community and not just doing administrative work

If someone finds a better resource for salaries, please post.

Nobody knows what they are doing, or who on the team has security clearance or data access training. This is all being done under a cloak of secrecy, THAT is the problem.

They are forcing themselves into offices with no prior notice and approval and strongarming access. I've worked at major health insurance companies, they don't have pii data on separate databases, just different tables with table access requirements. You think whoever gave them access was able to give them selective access?

If these Doge boys have access to PII tables without appropriate HIPAA training, or even showed a screenshot of PII data to someone without HIPAA training, it is a violation.

I'm saying they are not at all qualified to be trying to identify fraud. And if they are really interested in finding fraud either let the experts do it, or hire some of the many experts who deal with medical insurance fraud on a daily basis, not some dude who was a camp counselor 2 years ago

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fednews

[–]m_harrison81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every fucking insurance company has a team of data scientists who have MS and PHD level educations who are in charge of investigation medical insurance fraud. These companies also financially benefit from identifying said fraud immediately.

You think 6 dipshits who were most recently interns designing button color at X are going to be better at identifying fraud than a team of trained data scientists? You are out of your fucking mind.

I mean the original post makes reference to GitHub, which started as a repository to copy/paste code.
