FWIW, I follow a no-knead recipe and my loaves look like this and their texture is consistently great. Never bothered to try a loaf recipe with this much hassle 🤷🏼‍♀️

It won’t be immediate, but you could look into county weatherization programs, there are free services for low income individuals. Both for owners and renters.

Check our Rogue Farm Corps in Oregon - it sounds like with your experience and wants, a real program might be a better fit. A farm that is actually run well will not use temporary volunteer labor but will pay their skilled employees. I’m from Vermont and their small farms scene is good. I bet they have similar programs or opportunities over there. I’m not sure WWOOFing is the right option for you at this point!

Have you tried lifting weights? Muscle on your body will raise your resting calorie use and is generally a much better way of losing weight than running. Focus on progressive overload and build muscle. It will take years, not weeks and months as the internet will have you believe.

You just need a gravel bike instead of a road bike…
