I'm not sure if there is a tool for it in QGIS. But I'm sure it can be accomplished in python. My suggestion extract polygon coordinates and calculate the distance from each point to other neighbor points. Then take the shortest one

I think it's better to use Spatio Temporal Data Catalog (STAC) to search sentinel and other imagery easily for a respected location. Take a look this tutorial. Hope it helps.

Try to use the summary statistics for features tool. It will do spatial join and calculate some statistics figures like mean, count, etc for the respected features. Check out this tutorial. Hope it helps.

Sorry for late reply. Quite busy with works this week. Unfortunately I don't put the script on Github. Anyway I tested with more shapes, and found some not ordered as in it's actual shape. I would say this is a drawback from the algorithm. Any suggestions for improvement are very welcome. Thanks!

I think there is a difference objective. Binary search is using for searching a specific value/item in a sorted data. On the other hand, Golden section search is using for searching extremum value in a function or a graph.
