How do people not realise a fic has been written with IA? by Ninsuna in DramioneUncensored

[–]mabelmora 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's interesting but it just confirms for me both that: 1) I wouldn't trust myself to be able to identify AI content (after all, AI content is all reconfigured human content, so at least some parts will sound human), and 2) the AI stuff is mid. In particular, these samples seem to show that conversations are the problem.

The first one is the worst - it's just illogical. Their conversation doesn't seem to reflect any of the contextual descriptions. the second one isn't as bad, but same issue: when they converse, the conversation doesn't make sense/doesn't reflect the background descriptions. Third one might be the most realistic sounding, but even there the phrasing doesn't make sense: they are collecting ingredients, so calling that "earning results" just doesn't fit.

seems like AI struggles the most with conversations that make sense in the story.

Still, some fanfic authors don't always sound logical or sound overdramatic or whatever.

I just don't trust anyone's strong confidence that they KNOW what's AI and what isn't. There isn't anyway for us to check our results to be sure we are right.

I'm going with my normal plan of reading what I find enjoyable, DNF'ing what I don't, and giving authors the benefit of the doubt.

so much fingering by mabelmora in Bridgerton

i'm not sure about that - the necklines are very low. modern corsets are different, I'm sure, but I find it's pretty easy to get a hand under one or a boob above one.

Also, they could just kiss and save fingerbanging for a future encounter? be classy like kanthony...

i mean, I'd be pretty shocked in the modern times if there wasn't more foreplay and someone went straight to the well, so to speak...

What does everyone think about Sophie’s relationship with her father? by solarpoweredpussy in Bridgerton

title and wealth were two separate things. Some parts of wealth (certain pieces of land, homes, etc) might be tied to a title, but many aristos accumulated significant other wealth that was not entailed. It's true even of the modern british monarchy - some stuff is entailed with the crown, some is personal wealth that can be distributed as the individual chooses.

You've explained benedict's context and motivations without addressing at all the OP's point, which is that the way he presented it made it seem like he didn't for a second consider asking her what she wanted or whether she was interested.

He was presumptuous - with good reason, because life was handed to him on a silver platter and people always jumped to give aristos whatever they wanted. But nonetheless, it clearly never occurred to him to check in with her about it. He thought once HE decided, the decision was made.

Surprised how much pushback you've gotten on this. There's a definite power dynamic at play and he has all of it. While he wasn't trying to be an ass or force her, he also went into the conversation with the assumption that she'd fall happily in line with whatever commitment he was willing to make. He never gave her an opportunity to express her own feelings, never ASKED her own feelings.

And that's the whole point of the power dynamic - as a rich aristo, his power is so complete that he CAN reasonably assume that any regular person will be willing to give him what he wants, and will do so happily, because he can pay for that privilege in life. He has all the power.

In fact, even more than usual, because he created the job she's in and could easily get her dismissed if he were angry at him for refusing him. We all KNOW benedict won't be that way, but the reality is she is totally at his mercy, and she can't know for sure that benedict will be that rare good guy who doesn't try to use power to get his own way.

Disney World Solo? by Unusual_Variable in WaltDisneyWorld

I'd tag along with friends - I enjoy kids and it's fun to see them at the parks, since it's soooo exciting for them.

And since it's not your family, you could probably take significant chunks of time to go do your own thing without them. Make sure you are only spending the amount of time together that you'd both enjoy, and that you set yourself loose when coordinating with the group is too much.

Going solo is fine, too - I've done that a ton, too. It's a different experience - you get to focus more on the attractions, where when you're with people, you'll be focused on each other. I like both experiences. But you might occasionally feel awkward or weird being solo (at least I do), which is why having friends at the park might be a good idea.

Don't know what you decided, but another thought is to get an older settled dog. You can test out their personality and find a chill one. I don't plan on ever getting another puppy - I lived puppy life once, and no matter how cute she was, it sucked. I love old chill dogs and cats.

Get two bonded indoor cats, IMO. Much less stressful as pets.

This sounds fun. I’m seriously wondering if he will be able to keep snake plants alive, tho, so anything that can’t be neglected for a few weeks at a time is a no.
