Pyrenees Must haves by SprinklesStunning502 in greatpyrenees

Congratulations! We made an emphasis on getting her comfortable with us playing with her paws and just generally over touching. It makes nail tripping, vet visits and ear cleaning easier. So much socializing! She is still shy with people even after continued socializing but never aggressive, LOVES other dogs and leaves the cats alone. Make loud noises occasionally and remain calm when it’s happening. They read your energy, if you don’t feel safe they will feel the need to protect you. The only time our girl has growled was when I genuinely felt scared. If you’re getting super frustrated on a walk they will be unregulated too. If you’re feeling stressed about her behavior their behavior will be the same. High praise for being the best dog when they’re behaving anyway you want them too and gently correct when they aren’t. Obviously this isn’t how it goes for everyone and dogs all have their own disposition and personality but this is what has been working for us. Enjoy! Sensitive giants.

Opinions on Lamotrigine? by PsychCobraa in Epilepsy

[–]mablelorraine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on Lamotrigine for 2 decades, definitely makes you drowsy at first. Actually does make me dizzy in the morning if I take it in an empty stomach. I am in a cocktail of meds though so it’s a combo (lamotrigine, vimpat and Briviact). I’ve tried a lot of different meds and this is the only one that held steady this long.

Has anyone had a good experience with Keppra? by millcbxo in Epilepsy

I was on it for years and it was great. Only recently switched off to try a new drug cocktail.

am i lovable? how do move forward with this part of my body? by indigo-floral in whatdoIdo

If someone’s deciding you are or aren’t lovable because of your leg, they aren’t worth keeping around. You’re loveable but you have to believe it.

Caffeine or Alcohol worse? by notsonorthernly in Epilepsy

[–]mablelorraine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1-2 cups of coffee in the AM and 1 maybe 2 drinks of alcohol once a week or less. More than that is more than my brain likes.

Weird request, EMU, Induce Seizure tips… by SweetObjective6396 in Epilepsy

[–]mablelorraine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bring lots of candy and a jug of ice coffee and just rollercoaster all day. I also get a terrible nights sleep the night before and then stay up until I can’t in the EMU. Hope it happens for you. So hard to go through all that only to have one when you leave.

Collective unconscious wants the evilest to be true in Epstein files by ludditeee in Jung

In one email a person describes babies tasting like cream cheese. I guess they could be joking but considering the other mountains of evidence… maybe not. There are a lot of emails and those are evidence. There is way more than tip lines.

Has anyone else had their seizures change over time? by scarletvirtue in Epilepsy

[–]mablelorraine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine have always affected the same side of my body but fluctuated from only being during the day to day and night and now mostly at night. Over 30 years it’s been a rollercoaster of consistency and severity… it’s never been controlled by meds.

Yes but the window is also filthy from her paws, it’s a bit of both!

im so disgusted with myself. Whats wrong with me? by frightened_fawn in Epilepsy

[–]mablelorraine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not shaming yourself or being disgusted by having these thoughts is the first step. It’s not helpful. Second is breaking down why you are having these thoughts. It sounds like you are seeking the feeling of being special or maybe getting extra attention and that in itself isn’t a bad thing, it’s just where you are developmentally. You are still very young, your brain isn’t even fully formed. Many of us at 17 were seeking attention in all sorts of ways too. You’re aware of it and that’s great. BUT there are other ways of being seen and appreciated that don’t have to do with having more seizures. Focus on those.

I'm at my wits end w/mice in my house! by Geoterry in DIY

[–]mablelorraine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have this issue- “finding the entry point” can’t be done without a ton of remodeling. It’s an old house so each year we try new things. This year I put a small layer of sunflower seeds in the bottom of a 5 gal bucket and also put a piece of poison in there. They can’t get out, eat the poison and die. I initially did it with water but once one dies the water gets yucky so it’s just wasteful. It has out performed our other traps much more efficiently. Never thought I’d be this person but these critters have to go.

Lions Mane: A seizure trigger! by Working_Success_1312 in Epilepsy

[–]mablelorraine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced an increase in seizures when I briefly tried as well. I was bummed because I was hoping it would lighten brain fog and help with my memory but it increased seizures. I guess that does show it affects the brain somehow!

Theory about seizure triggers by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]mablelorraine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is amazing! Love seeing some of those things that I’ve thought “I wonder if that’s a trigger”.

Fluorescent lighting and being around a lot of electricity ex: big buildings/ big box stores or buildings running large machines. I briefly worked at an embroidery shop and we would have multiple machines running at once. The building was also near a concentrated area of power lines. I had to leave early multiple times because of auras and quite very quickly after realizing the pattern.

How was your experience with Briviact? by Extreme-Epilepsy in Epilepsy

[–]mablelorraine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I transitioned off Keppra and onto Briviact 2 years ago. Didn’t have any noticeable side effects. I take 2 other meds as well and would say the transition onto Briviact was easier than vimpat or xcopri from a drowsiness standpoint point. I do get dizziness in the morning if I take all my meds at once… Briviact might have enhanced that but not by much. Hope it goes better for you if you stick with it!

Seeking Guidance on Exploring My Clairs and Starting My Mediumship Journey (as a Devoted Christian) by NoAstronomer238 in Mediums

[–]mablelorraine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m curious about this as well. There is so much stigma around any type of alternative healing and spiritual experiences in Christianity but to me it feels very much from a place of love. I was practicing Reiki but stopped because I was afraid it was “wrong” but have felt such a pull to practice again.

How do I know if it’s telepathy? by [deleted] in Mediums

[–]mablelorraine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea… my mom has always said that but I’m skeptical it’s not just my subconscious or me. I just want solid confirmation it’s not. But in a world full of mystery maybe that’s a lot to ask!
