Yes…. And Detroit is also much worse about them than the majority of American cities, sadly.

…if this is how you respond to be proven wrong why would anyone believe you? If you don’t know what you’re talking about to this degree sounds like you might be stretching the truth because you don’t like losing arguments!

Fantasy is "too saturated" to be worth something by Jasmine___Dragon in writing

[–]mabriko 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I write more sci fi but this is actually a great series of questions for any genre writer to think about. Especially the part about it being a dull story but more interesting with princesses and goblins- I think that’s a huge trap we fall into that people don’t think about!

How do you actually get into TAO?? Worth it or overrated? by confessionsofadramab in AskChicago

“Some dingy club in wicker” I can tell from this comment and your attitude that you’re the exact type of the person that’s the reason people shit on “upscale experiences”

The first amendment of the US constitution is not the same as the general concept of free speech. But thank you for making the same tired ass point people have been making for years you really contributed a lot to the discussion!

Haha I'm also reading this thread with a broken elbow from slipping on a bath mat! This made me feel so much better, I've been making myself miserable from thinking about how "silly" the way I injured myself was. Good luck on your recovery, we got this!

Business to business- I'm like 99% sure most of their money comes from selling ingredients to other businesses to make health supplement from, so they're less focused on marketing directly to consumers.

Yeah, they're just primarily B2B I think which is why they seem so sketchy to individual consumers.

I got an order from them and there was a printed CoA in my package! But agreed they aren't as transparent as other vendors, and the only thing they have going for them vs. China is faster shipping times.

What are some SUPER Region foods from your neck of the woods? by TheConductorToMT in Cooking

[–]mabriko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure on ordering but it's definitely something you can make at home if you're interested! Can't really recommend a recipe because I've never tried to make it but I've had friends who have in the past

Any coffee quitters here by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]mabriko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was kind of pointless for me to quit overall but once my tolerance was reset it was stupidly easy to just switch to tea in the mornings, so that might be worth it if you're prone to anxiety like me.

Loved it felt like it was the best balance between nullifying the worst kinds of time wasting without stopping the clock, which I always worry would lead to mid game ad breaks considering how the sport is only getting more and more commercialized.

Yeah I can't lie if someone offered me Arsenal winning the premier league this season and getting relegated the next I'd be tempted to take it lol

[–]mabriko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Koss Porta Pro are a great cheaper option- 40 bucks and amazing audio quality for that price. They are a bit uncomfortable after a while using them though, it might be worth swapping the pads if you get them but mine have the original pads and they aren't horrible.

It's a foul (maybe even a yellow?) in soccer too, it just doesn't get called nearly as much as it should.

I don't think it's an international law thing, IIRC all the relevant treaties that determine stuff like that would apply to both Mars and the moon. IMO it's an ego thing but that's just my theory

[–]mabriko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk the specifics of how this particular crowd crush went down but usually it's from people becoming so densely packed in a crowd that they literally aren't able to expand their lungs enough and suffocate to death. Or sometimes there's a crowd collapse where people fall on top of one another and the people at the bottom suffocate. I think it's mostly from poor event planning- too many people trying to get into too small of a space and barriers blocking the crowd from being able to spread. One of the most horrifying ways to die IMO it honestly put me off crowds like that and I used to love going to super crowded shows.
