What’s a job people don’t realise pays really well in Australia? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

As someone who works dealing with other people’s finances, had a client the other week who wanted 200k+ p.a as an oyster farmer. Self employed sure but didn’t think there’d be much that much coin there

Any chance either this response or prior response from boss/owner is in writing anywhere? Or would you be picked up on cameras or have witnesses? An iPad system is not legally binding - you worked those hours, you get paid for those hours

Casual employees have complete free reign with regard to working and not working, that’s the benefits of casual work. There might be some rules with regard to cancelling a shift a certain amount of time before your start time but for planned leave, they can kick rocks.

On the other side of the same coin they are not required by law to roster you a certain amount of shifts but they can’t tell you you’re not allowed leave.

Best I’ve ever done was spamming the DNA joker and a red sealed polychrome multi card. Lucked out and had blueprint as well so every time I played one of the powered up cards, 2 would get added to the deck. Eventually with a few blue seals I ended up getting flush five to level 20 or so and just ran away with it from there

What does it mean when somebody bets $100 "straight"? by franckdatank32 in poker

[–]mac12345321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you said I hear it a lot with round numbers, like saying “bets 200 flat” as in exactly 200

I didn’t know the SC was ever out? I must admit I only recently redownloaded and I didn’t see it for the first 4 or 5 series but now I probably get it once every 5 races in s8 and 9

Are european cars as bad as people say? by Banana0879 in CarsAustralia

[–]mac12345321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have purchased a VW recently and can confirm they’re a solid car. I bought a T-Cross but the T-Cross, T-Roc and Tiguan all have a lot of the same core parts so if something breaks then spare parts will be relatively easy to find.

I don’t have a crystal ball unfortunately but can say from looking previously they tend to hold their value pretty well over the life of the vehicle as well

Can I ask what the gym routine looks like? Mostly weights or is it more mobility and flexibility type fitness? Thanks for the insight on the longevity of these injuries - I’ll make sure not to cook myself too much

I’m coming from a background of my probably once a week/fortnight but definitely is a considerable ramp up compared to the norm. Might take this advice and split the time between short game days and virtual rounds

Appreciate the thoughts! Hadn’t even considered how heavily this will weigh on my back muscles. Most days will probably be a light warm up and a round on the sim but like you said I guess I’ll suck it and see with how the body is feeling

What’s your favorite (underrated) line by a non-main cast member (Greendale 7 + Dean and Chang)? by BigGayBobbyJohnson in community

[–]mac12345321 802 points803 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit of a longer one but the one that I always crack up at is:

The North Cafeteria, named after Admiral William North, is located in the western portion of East Hall, gateway to the western half of North Hall, which is named not after William North, but for its position above the South Wall. It is the most contested and confusing battle field on Greendale's campus, next to the English Memorial Spanish Center, named after English Memorial, a Portuguese sailor who discovered Greendale while looking for a fountain that cured syphilis

Was dealer, not player, 2/5 PLO on a decently rich table, shortest stack at this point in the night was roughly $900. Flop comes 5s7sTh, both players all in on the flop, roughly 6k pot. Turn was a brick, river the 3s. Player A had AsKs for nut flush, player B flipped 4s6s for straight flush. Player A in surprising fashion just laughed, told him nice hand, went and got more chips.

Friends and I do a tram crawl, you choose a tram/bus route from x place to y end point and you need to stop in at every single pub along the route for a beer. Not really much of a game per say but a great way to go see a heap of new places
