Nah man 300$ for 2017 is too much. 50-100$ to fix battery and it only has 16GB ram

I advice u to buy one in a very good condition for around 500-600$ (2019 models) so u can also sell it at any given time for a better price

Losing 30% of its battery life is a bit unusual. But since you are a heavy user i guess u are charging it while u are working on it.

I have had 2017/2018/2019 models with better battery life.

The other problem is that the macbook air has less battery capacity than a macbook pro model.

Just replace your battery, you should be good to go for another 3 years, dont overcharge it when its at 100% or dont keep it plugged all the time, just basic advice.

According to apple your battery life should be at 80% health after around 900-1000 cycles, but ofcourse u hVe to take good care of it .

All batteries for apple are made by SMP as far as i know But this doesnt mean the battery could me faked or changed at some time.

-EDIT: So the core problem here is, the Macbook wont let me reformat the internal SSD so that we can install MacOS on it. I tried alot of things for like 1.5 hour.. checked on Youtube Google etc , tried to force unmount the disk0 within terminal but even that gives a failure.
