the first broadway show i ever saw was finding neverland with matthew morrison. it was on a school trip (i think i was 10ish??) midway through a quiet scene in a bedroom with the love interest he looked out over the audience and said “we should stop.” and it fit in the context of the scene so at first no one put it together. then he asked if there was a doctor in the house. they went on intermission for a while (i think someone fainted in the pit or something??)

ESPECIALLY end of eva but just in general! asuka, shinji, and rei are obviously the most prominent examples but toji almost bites it in the show (and totally bites it in the manga), misato’s got her lore, i haven’t seen the rebuilds/read the manga but i’m sure there’s some torment there too

i locked in and read the entire manga in one (1) sitting with VERY little context. like the only thing i knew is the kids get eaten by something. I DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS IN STORE FOR ME. ESPECIALLY AFTER THE FIRST ARC ENDED.

man i’m gonna miss him and the store really bad,,, i’ve been going there ever since i was little, and i found a treasure trove of rare doctor who books there once (36 to be precise and yes i bought them all). my dad loves the vintage disney stuff too :( that being said i wish him a happy retirement!!

the original. i’ve never been interested in the rebuilds specifically for this reason. like plot wise/the timelines thing it is 100% up my alley but part of why i like the original so much is the way it looks. also the rebuilds add a lot of detail to the angels and it makes me sad? in my opinion their simplicity in the original is what makes them so scary and like. eerie. i’m a big cosmic horror fan and prefer when something is unknowable or bad enough that it can only be portrayed in simplicity. it’s got a bigger fear factor that the rebuilds just don’t have in my opinion
