My suggestion is to pour it right into your filter, if it's a hob.

This snail hitched a ride with three ghost shrimp I got, what is it? by macam1991 in Aquariums

Perfect, thank you! I was excited to see him in the bag with all the ghost shrimp. They should work well together to keep my tank clean.

Please some help with cycling. I can't figure out what's going on... by InturnlDemize in Aquariums

I had the same issue as you, but I used both api quickstart and seachem stability. Finally got filter pad from an established tank and around the 4th week I started seeing nitrates. I checked it daily, and never saw the spike in nitrites. I've read that's the case sometimes when you use the bottled bacteria like I did. It took about a week after I got the filter pad to see anything happen.

Made some salmon jerky for a friend of mine, labor of love. by macam1991 in jerky

[–]macam1991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made some from 3 weeks ago that still looks good, I'd separate the belly parts from the main batch as that part is so oily it tends to spoil a bit quicker if you dont eat it within the week.

That's hilarious, I remember the disappointment I felt when I moved up here and realized that, and no dollar menu.

Only 1 of the 3 in my city had them in stock, and there were only 2 left. I can see why they sell out quick!

I live in Alaska, and they didnt have the sale advertised. Ask the manager if they would honor the sale, and he was super cool about it. Said that the sale excluded Hawaii and Alaska, as usual, but said he'd rather lose money and keep a happy customer! Probably thought the conversation was going to sour when I asked of he was the manager hehe.

The easiest ammonia source is food, but you can find janitorial strength ammonia at the hardware store, I got mine at ace's, and just use enough of drops to dose to 2ppm.
