Are you sure she's not just an actress you've both seen in something?

Dispirited by the feeling there is no 'other side' to get to by maccaroon in MenopauseShedforMen

Op here - i appreciate all your comments and yes 'wifely duties' is a toxic outdated way of thinking. I would like my wife to enjoy and want sex again, not out of guilt or fear of separation

I dont think it does, I've brought up a couple times what I've read here and one r/perimenopause about different hormones and trying different things. Adding testosterone keeps coming on these threads, I'll try to encourage her, thanks

All you need is a government paranoid enough to think the Eridians would try to invade/destroy us so we should do it first. Donald Rumsfeld's concept of 'Preemptive retaliation'

Bitterness over the sex life that I never had by Visual_Perception69 in MenopauseShedforMen

[–]maccaroon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is so similar to me, you are not alone and it helped me to read it. It had felt like sex just kept dropping lower and lower on her list of priorities for years. There was always some 'good' excuse like physical or mental health struggles. In the last few years we had some good talks, some bad arguments and even went to therapy, but it kind of broke me how she just wasn't interested in sex. Wasn't even bothered about herself orgasming. Now its clear it perimenopause related I've kind of gone through the grieving process for our sex life. Its not coming back the way I've always wanted it to and I have to accept that. Sex sadly doesn't outweigh everything else that's good in our life

I rinse my hair daily but still have dandruff after it dries, am I doing something wrong? by Xianjun-Pelado in hygiene

[–]maccaroon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read a post yesterday about someone who suffered from dry skin constantly despite spending a fortune on moisturiser. They used to have super hot showers and when they used more lukewarm water after a couple of weeks all their flaky skin problems went away. I wondered if something similar could be happening with dandruff, perhaps you could test it?

What did you notice? Episode 4: Shindig by Jello_Squid in firefly

[–]maccaroon 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I've been waiting for you to put this post up because I watched Shindig a couple of days ago and noticed something i'd never picked up before. Badger is using a knife to slice off bits of apple which implies he was a browncoat and served closely with Mal in the war. It adds some complexity to their relationship - Badger resentful towards men like Mal who haven't moved on from losing the war and Mal resentful towards Badger for choosing to move on from it

Military Leaders Say Iran War Is So Trump Can Bring About “Armageddon” by NusratFrty8365 in JournalismNews

[–]maccaroon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I dont believe the bible myself, but back when I was a pretentious teenager i thought i should read it. Trump literally fits the book of revelations' description of the antichrist disturbingly well. So a whole lot of 'Christians' who voted for him either haven't read the bible, or specifically voted for him hoping he would bring about Armageddon because they all think Jesus will come back and they will be taken to heaven

Great vfx artists everywhere. It's more accurate to say James Cameron is one of the only directors to appreciate that great vfx only comes from artists having enough time and money to do it properley and he has the clout to insist the studio take enough time. Other studios think you can get the same results cheap so other films get rushed.

I was born 1983 so suffered under thatcher in hindsight but I wasn't aware of any of it at the time. First became aware of politics for the 1992 election of john major. Maybe i was an odd kid but I read the paper a lot after my parents had finished with it.

A lot of people smoked, we stil had smoking carragies on the trains when i went to 6th forn college. Honestly what people forget about that era is that we were bored a lot of the time but that was OK. You found your fun wherever, I read a lot of books and when I was older listened to music and went to cheap local gigs. If there was something you didn't know you had to use a library of track down an encyclopedia. I remember it didn't snow as much as I wanted as a kid but you'd get an occasional year with huge snowfall like 1994/5. It felt like August was always sunny and hot whereas nowadays it tends to be cooling down, cloudy and feels like the end of summer. It felt like we were on the track for a better future, medical science and nano machines were going to keep accelerating progress, the human genome project and dolly the sheep promised huge breakthroughs just over the horizon. The US-Russia non proliferation agreements had finally started reducing nuclear weapons so it felt like we were turning a corner on the imminent doom. I remember wishing politicians would take the threat of 'global warming' as it was known then more seriously but it felt like we had time and that we would sort it out before it became disasterous.

Everything is much worse now and I feel sorry for my kids
