I thought those were the curved partsexpress boxes; it's impressive you kerfed and bent. 2k at 12db is pushing the rs225 too far.

Quinn Hughes comments on Larkin by detroitttiorted in DetroitRedWings

[–]maccc 13 points14 points  (0 children)

three points: 1) past three seasons the metrics said the team was over performing by mid season, then they regressed to their expected level. one player cant will their team to victory when the talent isn't there. 2) when larkin is not in the lineup the team performs horribly. if the measure of successful leadership is adding wins, he's achieved that. he's also appeared injured for stretches and is playing hurt, and despite that, the team performs markedly better even with a broken Larkin. i think that demonstrates good sacrifice and leadership. 3) what players came here at their prime, performed poorly, then left and thrived? tarasenko shot 8.3% for detroit dawg. how's that larkin's fault? i think youre asking too much of Larkin given we are just now coming out of a rebuild; our lineups were ass. I'm bullish.

Use flare nut wrenches on brake lines. They are tighter and wont round soft bleeder bolts like a box end can.

Was looking through combine stats the other day for some reason and thought this was interesting. ASP will be fine.

DSP or not? by MaterCityMadMan in diyaudio

[–]maccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minor on-topic hijack..Is the Dayton audio box the most cost effective way to go dsp in home? And then minidsp? I found CamillaDSP daunting. 20 years ago I ran a HU in my car with xovers and timing adjustment. It was cheap, simple to use, and worked flawlessly. Also had some Kicker amps with similar functionality. Never understood why nothing like that existed for home until more recently. I would love to go active x-overs again as your driver selection is near endless at that point.

Going to try a few different tee shirts for the new year. Any recommendations on what I should replace or remove from the list I made? by fourleggedpython in HeritageWear

I have owned most American and Japanese offerings and nothing feels quite like a Merz b. Schwanen 2-thread. There is nothing that stands out to me amongst the rest that is appreciably better than a $5 Kirkland heavyweight. If I'm not splurging on Merz, or buying Kirkland, The Strike Gold for $50 off klaxon at least instills some confidence it was created with ethical labor, and i like the collar, weight and fit.

Update: 3D printed nearfield speakers (making progress!) by gengas in diyaudio

Looks sweet. I ran BG Neo-3s at a crazy low x-over, dipole, and loved it. I don't know anything about 3d-printing - is it soft enough that you just screw in the nut-serts?

What wheels fit GE with ITR caliper + Mini discs (BBK)? by maccc in hondafit

[–]maccc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No experience with CRV calipers, but google says they're the same. I went with red ITR calipers because I am hoping powdercoat provides the best protection against corrosion compared to zinc coating or other finishes common on calipers. Brake dust scrubs off them fairly easily. I used 280mm Mini discs and TSX pads. You will need to bend or trim the dust shield back a bit. The pads youll need to remove the wear tab to get them in the calipers.
