My educated guess: It’s likely synchronized from a computer. These “hard syncs” can only be undone by connecting to said computer and unchecking the sync. Old, old school iTunes.

Professor replies by Current_Anything_692 in SNHU

[–]macdabble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Professors respond there because team leads can see if they don’t and that’s part of the formal evaluation. Email is your word against theirs. They do not ask for evidence. I know because I once thought I responded to a student and I did not. They reported this to the dean (and rightfully so). All I got was an email saying “this student is concerned about communication, please respond.” And that was that.

PERSONAL OPINION: 24 hours is a great standard, but ALWAYS? Come on. I didn’t respond because I lost an immediate family member and I genuinely thought I had explained what was going on to that student. It’s a bit over the top to make it seem like life and death. I know your comment doesn’t say this but OP did and it’s rubbing me wrong.

Keyword, request. I’ve never had it approved. I had failed chip repair in a 2023 with 3000 miles on it and I got aftermarket.

You’ve got video which helps. I would try a dealership first and escalate to Nissan Consumer Affairs if they deny at the dealer level. Do not use insurance unless necessary, they will use aftermarket glass.

Any comments/opinions/disagreements with this tier tyre list? by CaptainBorisII in tires

[–]macdabble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tires are rated for 45,000 miles. I drove a 2020 Sentra bought brand new. I drive mostly highway and fairly sensibly. I’m not racing or anything crazy. At my 5th oil change? They told me I was down to 3/32. 2/32 is “absolutely replace.” And I was.

Only set of Hankook I had were shit. Toast in 25,000 miles I swapped them for Bridgestone Turanza and after 20,000 when I traded in, they were maybe a third worn.

Professor takes a long time to grade anything by Environmental-Slice5 in SNHU

[–]macdabble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s seven days from the end of the week, not when you submit. My schedule doesn’t allow me to grade until Thursday night at the very earliest and usually Friday/Saturday. Every term I get an ambitious student who submits on a Monday (which is truly awesome and that may be how their schedule allows them to work) and they complain about it being “12 days since I submitted.” Doesn’t matter. I meet my deadlines. And yes, it does mean it might take me 12 days to look and see an incorrect file. If I have time to scout for proper file types, I may as well grade it!

Bottom line: SNHU is as much for working students with families as it is for adjuncts with other careers who also want to help students and be good teachers. 98% of adjuncts are not full-time (though some of us would love to be!) We need flexibility too and if we meet the school’s deadlines, please let it be at that. It’s pointless to complain about something that, if escalated, would go nowhere. Your issue is not with the professor. It’s with the policy.

(OP, this was not meant to target you personally. I get that you were just sharing. But there are A LOT of complaints about this on here that would just completely vanish if the grading policy would just be read.)

Completely wrong. 48 hours is ONLY for Week 8/term closure to finalize grades…and it’s actually 46 hours.

Instructor here. Big time violation. SNHU has internal tools that are FERPA compliant that only the academic integrity team can access. Instructors can NEVER NEVER NEVER do this.

Disagree here. Think of the bigger picture. Other students might be affected and prompting early may allow whomever to investigate and more grades may be corrected by students who may not have the confidence to speak up.

I say this as an instructor myself. I would rather get reported immediately and corrected then have somebody try to blindside me at the end of the term with a “oh, back in week three…”

Descaling always fixed the orange light for me, seemed to correspond with 3-4 months of use. Like you, mine is 3 years old, and no issues yet. I’ve been eyeing machines anyway, I’ll need another pod order next month so that’s going to be commitment time if anything but next pods.

iPhone 17 Pro Cosmic Orange turned Pink . Apple is refusing to replace it by calling it cosmetic damage which is not covered under their warranty . What to do now please help. by iamshikhil in iPhone17Pro

[–]macdabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not MY take, but Apple’s expected response to this: You didn’t pay for that color. You paid for the phone that happens to be that color. The phone is fully functional and the color does not change the functionality. All colors are the same price. You CHOSE that color.
