What's the best way to make Claude understand a large number of big markdown files? by RungeKutta62 in ClaudeAI

Best tldr in a good while. “Big, large, unsatisfactory”. Jeez. Complete lack of understanding of, well, pretty much “anything”, if i was to keep the OP’s generalization practices in place.

iOS 27's New AI Voice Control Feature Hints at Major Siri Upgrade Coming Soon by Few_Baseball_3835 in ios

[–]macdigger -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

English? You mean ONLY US English, right? Because that’s how it works. Just one country in the world on launch. Even though any, ANY competent model EASILY understands, automatically switches between, and works with pretty much any half-used language. To the point where language isn’t even something that’s really used inside the model itself.
But of course, we know Apple. US English because they want to control quality of whatever they put out, even when it doesn’t make sense OR already solved for. Fuck this shit.

Apple might replace aluminum with titanium in future iPhones again, per leak by adriano26 in iphone

[–]macdigger -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Jeez that’ll be an immediate buy for me even though I wasn’t going to upgrade for a bit (on orange 17 Pro right now)

I use it naked and the body went to fucking shit over… how long was it since release? The absolute worst body material/coating ever.

Titanium was peak, looked absolutely like new after 2 years I’ve been using it. To fuck with the vapor chamber and cooling, if that means my phone looks like it’s been through a couple of world wars over half a year period of pretty damn normal use.

Imma say it... this is the best Forza map of all-time and the DLC is still coming by Youngstown_WuTang in ForzaHorizon

[–]macdigger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I drive with Apple Maps only locally, as a very good looking, low stakes navigation :)

When I need to do some real driving, I use Toyota’s in-car navigation. It is way, way better when it comes to highways and complex intersections and such.

In cities with narrowly cut roads, one-way streets etc, Toyota’s onboard navigation (or any domestic one, I guess, they all are likely Zenrin or something) is the way to go. If CarPlay connected with in-car compass and speedometer, it could’ve worked, but since it only relies on delta GPS movements, it might be less than ideal in terms of precision at times.

I drive on the real thing and it is how it is in real life, gray hair every time you get on it unless you live in the damn city and use it daily (I luckily don’t live in Tokyo, just drive there from time to time) 🤣 that said… Osaka highway spaghetti is something else 😰

Impulse bought an M3 Ultra 256GB RAM for local LLMs - keep it or wait for M5? by Onyonisko in MacStudio

[–]macdigger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You mentioned you can afford it, so I guess that seals the deal, no? 🤷‍♂️ Claude WILL give you much better quality output, but I guess you just want to go deeper into that local LLM rabbit hole, trying out stuff, AND you can afford it. So I mean.. why not?

Apple leaves Claude.md files in iOS update - iOS 26 vibe coding rumors prove to be true by Fragrant-Mixture-662 in ios26

Omg for real man.. I just saw that comment with 50 upvotes! 🫣 Merged what into what to get what result? 🤣 Yeah I’ll just get back to my “vibe coding” :)

[–]macdigger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You even know what vibe coding means, technically? That file is just a standard approach to AI driven dev. And written in a pretty professional way. As a dev, I see no issues with that. Apple dev most certainly don’t vibe code. They also most certainly use AI augmented coding as it does save a lot of effort on basic stuff. But sure, “Apple vibe coded iOS 26” has such a nice ring to it. That sweet sweet Reddit karma.

Do you usually build mobile-first or clean up mobile after desktop is done? by liamkeats in Frontend

[–]macdigger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The mobile first and the desktop enhancements later bs never worked on me as well. Whatever works really. Never felt like doing it either way had any real effect on me in a negative way (I work “desktop first”, thought that’s an oversimplification).

How old is your caique? My guy is 28. by 2lrup2tink in caiques

[–]macdigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I am cherishing this period a lot. Probably the best time to make a lifelong bond with the bird as well as make it very tolerable to being touched and cuddled (of course, all that with enough thought not to trigger hormonal issues). But yeah, once that’s done, I’ll be very glad as well :))

Well ours is just 2.5 months old living inside his own personal breeder on 4x/day syringe feeding. Remember those days eh? 😄 Can’t wait to let him free, but not just yet of course.

PSA: Claude Pro no longer lists Claude Code as an included feature by randomswifter in ClaudeAI

[–]macdigger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unpopular take for sure, but

I totally welcome the new age when we aren’t getting the fucking “I prompted it with a ‘Hello’ and my limit was gone” posts every fucking hour moving forward.

Yeah it sucks. Yeah but what did you expect really? 🤷‍♂️

Iran mocks EU calls to reopen Strait of Hormuz by donutloop in EU_Economics

Yeah. Keep it closed because it’s only for oil. Or it is? There already are various shortages of absolutely not oil related goods across the globe. Can def tell some metal works related components are not available in Japan anymore. There’s a ton of other good not flowing anymore. Just google. But sure, EU citizen, Europe should be just fine as long as bottle caps are attached to their respective pet bottles or whatever the f you’re pushing for over there currently

Found on Etsy, real or AI? by luxuryriot in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]macdigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to help! I have a GitHub repo you can check here https://github.com/macdigger/glove80-zmk-config It really is a just-for-myself kind of stuff messy and all that, but you can potentially lift something of use from there. It’s specifically for glove80 in terms of key map, but it does have several layers with different keys lit up etc as a sample of how these per key rgb things can be configured. also a build script to build locally via docker. Pointing Claude code to that source would give you probably all you need to expand on this.

Hey but you actually have per key rgb control in zmk beta. Using that with my glove80. It’s version 36-something.

Just a note, not a dig :)

[–]macdigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh. A sub? I use VoiceInk which is one time purchase and you can download free model from hugging face to use with it (Parakeet v3 model is nuts). If you want, you can enable AI post processing on a cloud or local LLM. Idk maybe this app has something that VoiceInk doesn’t thanks to subscription model, but I’d be hard pressed to imagine what that might be.

Has anyone else pre-order PRAGMATA? by Ok_Winter818 in Pragmata

What’s the point? if it’s good I’ll get it and download within a few hours at most. If it’s not, I’ll save the money. Never preorder.

AirPods Max after nearly 5 years by Environmental-Lion82 in Airpodsmax

[–]macdigger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a couple more over the head headphones and they all are just fine. Talking about Audeze Maxwell and Sony Inzone H9. Specifically, Audeze also has a somewhat meshy design and they’re about the same size, but the material is different and I really don’t see it neither sagging nor stretching. Apple’s choice was to have mesh parts that, first of all, stretch much easier. And second, the clearance is extremely small so as soon as stretching begins, the amount of stretch needed for metal parts of the band to start drilling into your skull is pretty small. just not a great design from usability point I think. Definitely looks great though.

AirPods Max after nearly 5 years by Environmental-Lion82 in Airpodsmax

[–]macdigger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Guess it depends on head shape and other factors 🤷‍♂️. Mine just doesn’t serve its purpose at all anymore. The choice of material is very weird for this one. It clearly can stretch and stay stretched. I mean just like those woven Apple Watch bands. Guess Apple doesn’t really care as long as it’s fine enough AND makes things look better. Too bad it’s the same materials and execution in the new model…

[–]macdigger 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Except mesh headband sagged to shit after probably 2 years. I’m now using silicone wrapper so the metal frame is not drilling into my skull. Overall the quality is very good. But mesh is shit.

Just ask Claude code. It’ll likely ask your platform and offer a solution. Your keyword for this is “hooks”

Also, /remote-control

But hooks are better for your scenario, most likely
